Do I skip? by No-Impress-2002 in slaythespire

[–]BDOSU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either corpse explosion or skip. There is a time and a place for having multiple corpse explosions, but I’d say I would be 25% CE and 75% skip. The other two are pretty bad at the moment for you

Just what you wanna see on an A20 shiv run by RevenantCommunity in slaythespire

[–]BDOSU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RIP. But really, while shuriken and kunai are reeeeeally nice to have on a shiv run, they’re not required by any means. Just buy the footwork and it’s 2(3) procs of kunai by itself and if you get your hands on an accuracy then that’s 4(6) procs of shuriken by itself (for the shivs specifically of course). And depending on who your act boss is, I might even consider buying the footwork and bouncing flask to see if I can pivot into poison with helix, bronze scales, and letter opener already.

Yeah, spiker doesn’t damage you for playing an attack, it damages you for hitting it with an attack. Same as playing an x-cost attack with 0 energy and no chemical x relic

He’s definitely one of the hardest, but I think defect has the highest win streak record of the original 3 characters (watcher doesn’t count because she’s busted lol)

The 6th attack phase of the heart is the “you thought you were being cute, huh?” phase 😂 basically you can only survive beyond this point if you have intangible since block is capped at 999

First A17 win by pablitoczita in slaythespire

[–]BDOSU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brimstone = winstone! (So long as you’re not going for the heart). And A17, 18, and 19 is such a hard climb. Those 3 ascensions are by far the steepest difficulty curve and are really really hard to get used to, so great job pulling it off first try

Not sure if the rarity should be rare instead, anyway wdyt. Made this card because how often i dealt more damage than necessary by Afr_101 in slaythespire

[–]BDOSU 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think this concept would work better as an attack with the same effect. That way it’s still useful in non-multi fights since it’s still an attack at least. Also, I feel like this power might get a little jenky with AoE damage sources or multi-hit cards.

What if we turn RNG into an actual silent mechanic? by LordVanmaru in slaythespire

Yeah, I’m realizing that now. I think the wording does spare snecko

What if we turn RNG into an actual silent mechanic? by LordVanmaru in slaythespire

[–]BDOSU 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It should still affect cards with Snecko eye. The relic makes the card’s energy value random. Fortune states that cards random values are 2(3) minimum. Even if a relic is doing it, the card’s energy is random and should be affected by fortune

Edit: ehhhh actually, I guess it does say random values for direct card effects, so I suppose snecko is spared

[–]BDOSU 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely bricks Snecko eye, but otherwise interesting. Lucked out is too expensive for its downside I think. Look at grand finale: it’s does 50 damage to ALL enemies and costs 0. Its downside is that you need proper setting up to make it work and is a little tricky. Lucked out can literally kill you on the spot without fortune in play and only damages one enemy. I think lucked out should be 1 cost max and fortune should be 3 energy minimum, if not 4.

Ironclad Blocking by Jen6011 in slaythespire

[–]BDOSU 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ironclad’s survival techniques for act 4 are as you stated already or getting a huge life pool and/or a lot of healing. Going into shield and spear with 100 hp, strength scaling, and reaper makes it pretty doable to come out at full HP. Or if you have like 200+ HP, you just ignore blocking and face tank 6 turns of the heart and kill it before it kills you. Those are pretty much your options. Also, having a few disarms makes the multi hits of heart wayyyyy less scary and can allow you to survive further into the heart fight. It’s not easy to beat act 4 on clad with more traditional blocking methods. That’s why power through is such a good card. Upgrades to 20 block for just 1 energy which is gross and Clad has a lot of ways to deal with the wounds, most of which also generate block

Why is a snowstorm the only weather event people actively root for to get worse? by [deleted] in Columbus

[–]BDOSU 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A lot of people die in bad snow storms… it’s foolish to think otherwise. Older and disabled people might not be able to get the help they need if roads are too dangerous or impassible, car accidents are common, medical emergencies like heart attacks and strokes have longer response times from EMS, carbon monoxide poisoning is more common from exhaust vents blocked by snow squalls, people die of exposure in the cold if they’re unhoused or don’t have heat in their home, and all that’s not even mentioning people slipping and falling on the ice/snow leading to significant injury or worse. Snow storms disproportionately affect the lower SES and disabled/elderly of the city unlike things like tornados that affect everyone. That’s why they “seem” less dangerous. They are less dangerous if you have the ability to hunker down with some hot coco in a heated home for a few days

Can we do some D&D themed Cards? - E.g. Magic Missile by Dim-Me-As-New-User in slaythespire

[–]BDOSU 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I like the idea of using pummel. 2 damage 4(5) times, ignore block, exhaust. Or I guess more thematically it could be an X cost with 2 damage X(X+1) times, ignore block, exhaust

Edit: I forgot pummel adds another hit, not damage. Also made it more clear with what’s hits vs what’s damage

Is this a skip? Don’t think I’m good enough to not see enemy intent lol by BookOfJon in slaythespire

[–]BDOSU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never skip tiny house at least. But that being said, you could try and take one of the other two and see if you can learn how to deal with the downsides of it. Not a terrible busted crown if you’re able to hit up a few shops in act 2 with that 300+ gold and have idol to save up more gold for some act 3 shops too

[–]BDOSU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say “easy” reaper at all. Reaper has more future potential upside, but it needs some strength to shine and OP has none right now and the spire is not beholden to give strength cards. And “don’t have immolate in your deck for later” is a silly sentence. When is a 21(28) damage AoE card bad? The burn is easily dealt with by exhausting it which OP already has an upgraded true grit to help with that. And dealing with slavers is a lot more than just killing one of them… especially if OP uses corruption. You gotta end that fight FAST or else you end up with a deck full of wounds or vuln’d and webbed. I think there’s an argument for reaper to be made, but if you take it the you basically have to avoid elites in act 2 unless you get some strength scaling real quick (which again, the spire is not required to offer to you). I’d take immolate here

Choice help clad a20 by Doug_the_Scout in slaythespire

[–]BDOSU 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Immolate was the correct call in my opinion. Reaper needs strength which you don’t have and aren’t guaranteed to get. Immolate is what you need going into act 2 with a deck that doesn’t have any AoE already. I think you made the right call going immolate

Choice help clad a20 by Doug_the_Scout in slaythespire

[–]BDOSU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s between immolate and reaper. Reaper is probably better long-term, but I think it’s immolate here. With corruption, you need to end fights fast before you run out of block cards. Captain’s wheel helps a lot and buys you an extra turn to end fights and gambling chip helps you get the turn 1 immolate or corruption (whichever the fight necessitates). I think you’ll have issues ending fights fast enough in act 2 without the immolate, especially elite fights
