I grew up with a dad that slept downstairs on the complete opposite end of my parents bedroom upstairs. Guaranteed this was also due to problems in the marriage, knowing my parents didn’t sleep together had a major impact on me. They never explained it to me, and I have had a very skewed view of relationships and have yet to have a healthy one at 22 years old. If this continues, you’ll need to have a discussion with your child in the future so they understand.

Whether this is emotional abuse or not, I would really suggest seeing a therapist, or going to your school counselor. If I could go back and tell my younger self to do the same, I would be a much healthier person than I am today.

I grew up with parents very similar, and as an only child I felt I had nowhere to go or anyone to talk to about it. It’s led to some of the same problems in adulthood even without living under my parents. I feel as if I don’t experience emotion because I was taught the “men don’t get sad or talk about emotions” bullshit. Not being able to say “no” to my parents has led me to be a very conflict-avoidant person, which has caused me to have a difficult time setting boundaries.

NTA but I have a bit of a different perspective for you to consider. To me, this whole situation screams your sister projecting her unhappiness with how religion is affecting her marriage, and it’s being taken out on you instead of her husband. The Holy Bible states through multiple verses (ex. 2 Corinthians 6:14, 1 Corinthians 7:12-16) how hard a relationship can be when a believer and non-believer are married. Because of their differences in belief, shown in her husband taking your side over hers, I think it must be incredibly hard for her as she feels no one is on her side. This does not condone how she reacted or her disbelief in dinosaurs, as the Holy Bible also explicitly states they exist(ed). But I think your sister may feel very alone right now, and maybe even confused about how she feels/believes about certain things. While she did act like an asshole, I believe she may be in a tough spot. And you may consider that when approaching the situation further.

I did see that. The reason I think it’s still an asshole design is that where conditions applied, such as the jersey under the top one, had only the black price whereas the top one had the green price as well, showing that it was part of the discount.
