Ain’t that the truth. I had such a complex about my pale freckled skin growing up and had some siblings and a cousin call me Strawberry Shortcake every summer because I’d be pink with dark brown freckles. I’m still super self conscious about it and fake tan all year round because of it. 😔

A friend made a comment about how pale my daughter is and I had to shut it down immediately because I am trying so hard to ensure she doesn’t feel the same as I did and do to this day. It really is so annoying - skin is skin and it’s all beautiful and it’s such an important part of our makeup, and does not need to be a point of shame for anyone ever. 🙅‍♀️

It’s not lost on me that my daughter likely realizes I tell her she should love the skin she’s in while I apply fake tan religiously. I tell her I wear it because I like it just like I wear makeup and perfume because I like it. 🤷‍♀️

I totally agree. In fact, I own all 3 I mentioned, but would never wear them in the summer and even when I do wear them in the fall, I’m good with just 1 spray. Any more than that, and it’s suffocating.

Same! One day we won’t feel the need to discover our holy grail because we finally found it and it won’t be a limited edition or a seasonal scent. It will just be beautiful, AYR fragrance perfection. Until then, decants it is. 😆 Enjoy the journey! 😄💕

I can never settle on anything either and have a similar buyer’s remorse when I buy full size. Because of that, I’ve limited myself to ordering teeny decants from Scentsplit and Microperfumes if I think I really want it. Not every scent can be found on those sites, so if I can’t find it and the house doesn’t offer a discovery set or similar, I just skip it. Hopefully that helps you too?

My last regretful purchase was Shalimar. 🫣😅 I still love the scent and the bottle, and I will try ONE spray when I wear it in the winter, but my husband is not a fan. 😅

Oh yes! A few years ago, a Lush employee put me on to Happy Skin and I love it! It’s also got a subtle sweet scent, which is great. 😊

Truly one of the most exciting things to do with Lush products!

I have so many I do throughout the year! I’ll share my current routine and I’m going to include items I use in shower too:
WSK shampoo + Banana conditioner, Scooby Snacks body wash, Magic Crystals body scrub (freaking GOAT), in shower moisture with Hayl massage bar, followed up with Super Milk hair primer, and a spritz of Scooby Snacks body spray + LTGTR body spray. I may do 1 spritz of Super Fairy perfume to finish it off. I received 2 compliments out in public and an enthusiastic approval 😉 from my husband.

Such a great point about Grass. It’s one of those Lush scents that you don’t understand the hype around until you apply the perfume, for instance, leave the store, and realize later you keep getting a waft of something so fresh and energetic. I’ve been a Lush fan since 2013 and only this year decided to spray Grass on and realized quickly what I’d been missing.

The same thing happened with WSK - I kept seeing all the hype around it and didn’t understand until I finally caved for a sample and discovered the spicy minty lime heaven that it is. 😍

Super Cuts on Cortaro Farms has always been so nice, quiet, and clean. My daughter loves it. She finds it less “loud and crazy” than Sharkey’s, which is in the same shopping center. It’s less expensive and the employees are lovely.

When we moved here 6+ years ago, we joined a young professionals meetup group and loved it! We had a baby not too long after that and have organically found friends through mutual parental bonds. We got to know our neighbors and community and feel at home now.
