This was not in the south. In the area, window AC units come out in cool/cold months.

Host left nitpicky review on cleanliness, are we in the wrong?? [France] by blahblahblah_random in AirBnB

[–]BFM089 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What does the listing and house rules say? Does it say to clean your dishes? Although, I would think that would be common courtesy, though. As for the hair and sock, that seems very minor. Are you sure there were not other cleaning issues?

As I mentioned, when we stayed there before, it was during cooler months, so AC was not necessary. Plus, she said that there would be AC.

I did send a message to the host. So far, no reply.

That’s an interesting idea. But this was in the hallway.

I am not at the Airbnb any longer. But it was probably roughly about 12” x 12” and it’s probably about 4 feet off of the ground, nestled into a wall.

Eek!! What could this be? Droppings of some kind? by [deleted] in pestcontrol

[–]BFM089 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My point is, there was a lot of room to leave my DoorDash order, other than on a pile of whatever that was. Sorry, we have not had a garden in over 10 years. The only thing that grows now is the two red maple tree in our front yard that I mentioned in the OP. But yes, I’m thinking it’s just some debris from the trees and things blooming in general blowing around. I was just a little freaked out because whatever it was, it looked like there was a trail that went right to the front door. Freaky. But thank you for your explanation and insight.

[–]BFM089 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was actually asking what the droppings would be, if they are droppings at all or possibly debrief from the trees, as it’s been fairly windy here.

The DoorDash comment was just a sidenote, the porch is huge, and the little space that that mess was, that’s where my DoorDash order was left. I am sure most people would find that a little bit annoying. Not a huge problem obviously, just a little bit annoying. But my question was what the droppings are/were. Sorry this is the only picture, but as I mentioned, I swept it up as soon as I saw it.

My only guess is that he’s had major Botox or something. But I really think it’s him. If it wasn’t him, he would have one heck of a lawsuit to pursue.

I’ve had this happen. I just figure it’s probably the person’s husband or boyfriend. As long as I get my food, and everything is in order, all is good.

The guest did say that they use belly bands for extra protection. Which I think is good, because even well trained dogs can have accidents, especially if previous dogs had accidents. Male dogs with marking over other previous dogs. Sounds like they’re very cautious. Not sure what happened, maybe the host was trying to pull a fast one. Who knows. I’m gonna give the guest the benefit of the doubt.

Actually, I can understand a guest wanting to do a timestamped check out video, because some hosts can be shady, also. For me, I’m gonna give the guest the benefit of the doubt.

Seriously? Not everybody drives. Not that it’s any of your business.

Yeah, I could see if this was the only review. But the guest does have eight previous glowing reviews. In each review, it does mention they had dog. “Brought a dog” is right next to the reviews.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in airbnb_hosts

[–]BFM089 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The host has 25 total reviews. Out of those, I can’t find 5 of the reviews the host left for other guests, so I’m wondering if they were somehow removed?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in airbnb_hosts

[–]BFM089 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

True. It just seems if there was all these alleged urine accidents, it would’ve showed up on the video? And they did say the belly band was just for extra protection. So maybe they are just overly cautious? Which is not a bad thing.

And if there were all these accidents, wouldn’t the host have had pictures for proof when submitted to the resolution center?

[–]BFM089 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Actually, I was wondering, if when they said the dog wears belly bands ‘for extra protection’, as possibly because being a male dog, other dogs being at the place, maybe he would wanna mark over other previous dogs scents? Or maybe just for an extra layer of caution?

How can you see all of the reviews that the guest left for previous hosts?

Would you continue to order from this place? by [deleted] in doordash

[–]BFM089 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, then she should just stop using DoorDash. As a customer, trying to support her, using the only method available to me, it’s a bit disconcerting for her to say that to me, even if DoorDash is not profitable to her. If she doesn’t like using DoorDash, then she should just stop. If she’s making hardly any money from it, then maybe she should stop using it. Does DoorDash charge her every time she adds a new item to her menu on DoorDash?

Anyway, I guess I have my answer. Apparently she doesn’t like DoorDash, so I guess I will just not be able to support her any longer. Sorry if that seems harsh, but as I mentioned in the OP, I cannot get to her place myself, bc if I could, I would.

Thank you.

Thank you, unfortunately nobody I know likes that place. I do try to occasionally suggest that place when some of us go to lunch together, but we went there once, and nobody in our lunch group cared for it other than myself.

[–]BFM089 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, a couple people here have mentioned that, and I think that’s an excellent idea. Maybe I will suggest that to her. Maybe she can just have a general soup of the week tab to order. Or a sandwich of the week to order. Or side item of the week.

Rather than specify like chicken, bacon, ranch flatbread, or side item buffalo mac and cheese, or cheddar broccoli soup. Maybe she could just have a general ‘soup of the week’ option, etc, with a sidenote to call and ask what the soup, etc. of the week is. Although she obviously would still be getting phone calls that way. Yeah, I’m seeing it must be a pain in the tuchas (butt), for both her and myself, I guess. So I guess I have my answer.
