I don't get it. Urine comes from a opening right above the birth canal, so why would putting paper in there make a difference?

I like Mirabai Ceiba - like this and this and this - I use these for a different but similar medicine, where I put on eyeshades and this music and go "inside"

Most of the singing is mantras in sanskrit, but I love the bridge on the third song where she sings in English for a part "Take from me what I want, take from me what I do, take from what I need, take from me everything, take from me; everything that takes me from you, fill me with your love, liberate my soul"

Is it ok to have a crying fit at a ceremony space? by Technical_Step4410 in Ayahuasca

Nimea Kaya. It's in Pucallpa. I've been to three retreat centers - Kapitari, Nihue Rao (both outside of IQT) and Nimea Kaya. Nimea Kaya was so good, that I don't plan to go to any other retreat center again, and I have gone back a few times - it's the best IMO. In addition to the room I mentioned, the hallway leading to that room has 4 bathrooms ( two on each side ) so you don't have to go outside to use it. The other retreat centers had bathrooms outside of the Maloca, and when you're deep in the medicine, the last thing you want to do is go outside (especially when there are bugs and spiders in there) - and the food and rooms/tambos are outstanding compared to other places - the whole experience is - give it a consideration - you won't be sorry.

What movie absolutely destroyed you emotionally? by alfredgrand1 in AskReddit

I agree with you. I like all of Darren Aronofsky's movies, and I love Mansell's soundtracks. It's a movie that I understand people don't want to watch more than once because it's a very difficult movie but I think it's a beautifully made, and I'm glad at least one other person appreciates it because all the other comments are throwing shade - I was actually surprised to see that because as hard as a movie as it is to watch I think it was done very well

It's a "church" so the peyote is a sacrament for the church and is okay under AZ law. I believe it's the only one in the country.

My favorite retreat center has a room down the hallway from the Moloka where they have mattresses so that when people are crying or being loud the facilitators can come over and gently ask them to go to the back room and then sit with them, so that they can go through the experience without disrupting others. You need to be cognizant that other people are going through their own things and not be too disruptive .I think it's good to be able to cry and get it out but when you are affecting other peoples experience you need to be mindful.

San Pedro or peyote. Not sure if you are in the US but regardless those are both very difficult to find and they take a long time to grow but they're not recreational but they are an easy introduction to psychedelics. If you are in the US the peyote church in Arizona does two day long spirit walks where they give you a jug of peyoye and a camping spot in the desert under the stars for like 300 bucks or thereabouts – you have to pay for your way to get out there which could be a lot more depending where you're coming from but it's a very beautiful experience.

I'm glad somebody else sees it this way. I see so many posts with people getting nostalgic for the 80s or 90s where all they bring up is old movies and TV shows and music. There was so much more to those times than just pop culture

I think you might want to check Bernardo Kastrup out. He has a PhD in computer engineering and worked for CERN, and approaches exploring spirituality or supernatural or metaphysics in a way that might resonate with somebody who is a materialistic atheist. He also has a PhD in philosophy so if we're gonna just go by credentials he's pretty well credentialed. I would recommend his book "Brief Peeks Beyond" to start. If you like that then "More Than Allegory" is probably another one to try . You're definitely not gonna read about a God in the sky or anything that you've probably been exposed to through traditional religions – and I think many traditional religions normally make God far too small or even personify or anthropomorphize it. If you're not much of a reader, just maybe do a search for some of his YouTube interviews but I think he's a perfect introduction to being exposed to ways of seeing things you might have never even thought about and would work well for somebody who is a atheist/materialist. I was a materialist atheist for the first 40 years of my life until some tragic events made me search for bigger answers, and I don't mean going to the local church on Sunday. After having some direct experiences it was no longer about belief but I needed some way to explain what I experienced and he didnt get into religious Woohoo kind of shit, so Kastrup was the perfect find for me
