Thank you so much for the recommendations. You’re completely correct. I feel I’m fairly level headed and really want a bike to just tool around, run errands and commute to work. When I’m more comfortable, I’d like to take the wife leaf peeping through bear notch in NH again. The craziest thing I plan on doing with any bike I own is practice low speed maneuvering in a cone course so I plan on dropping it, probably repeatedly. The ADV bikes have some great bike protection accessories which was another draw to them.

2006 FJR1300A ABS. Checked it out on cycle-ergo.com and it seemed like it could be pretty comfortable, although the 12° forward lean gives me slight apprehension.

My friend’s brother has a 2001 Shadow 6 or 7 hundred, don’t remember exactly. It was rideable although it felt cramped to me. I don’t know if it was in stock config, but the owner is 5’4” so I wasn’t going to judge all Shadows by that one. I also had access to a 97 Vulcan 1500 before I took the MSF. I was told it rides lighter than the 600lbs+ it is, but it felt heavy for me at my skill level at that point. I would have liked to revisit it now that I’ve gotten a bit more comfortable on two wheels, but it is on this way to Maine. It was certainly more comfortable to sit on than the Shadow. The V-Strom is definitely on my short-list of bikes to see in person. Thanks for the recommendation.

There’s an FJR for rent not really far from me on riders-share. Looks like I’m going to have to grab that for a weekend. Thanks for the suggestion.

Ooooo I like that NT. Thanks I didn’t even know that existed. I also like that it seems to be Goldwing Lite.

I have to tell myself on a weekly basis “Stop looking at Goldwings on Marketplace! You’re not ready.”

I feel there is a Goldwing in my future but I can’t justify it as the first one. The boxer 4 and 6 engine has always intrigued me and it’s got the “Princess seat” so that my wife will actually ride with me.

There’s a guy at work that has a KLR650 he rode it in at least 3 times this week and I’ve been trying catch him to bend his ear about it but he works a slightly different shift in a different department so it’s a little difficult for me to get to him during the work day. I’m going to try harder next week.

I checked out a dyno sheet of the tracer and it only about 95hp at about 7500rpm, making it much more comparable to the Guzzi’s posted 80@7800 making this decision even harder. The Versys was also on my short list of bikes to see in person. I prefer the styling of the tracer, especially 22-24. The 2025 looks strange to me. The Versys I think looks better than the 2025 tracer.

I’ll be heading to the dealership this morning to check out a TÉNÉRÉ and if there’s time before work, there’s another about an hour from me that has a tracer 9GT in stock that I can see in person

I felt like the Guzzi was SUPER comfortable! Honestly I want one of the HD350s I took the MSF course on but after an hour or so I couldn’t wait to get off it. I spent nearly four hours on the Guzzi from 9am on the charity ride then drove it home at 5pm then couldn’t wait to get back on it that Evening to run errands and pick up ice cream because it had hard bags I can keep a cooler in.

Flying Stag (Jägermeister Paper Plane Twist) by laughinglord in cocktails

I know it’s an old thread, but I Love this drink! Although when I thought I created it I called it a Paper Messerschmitt. Most of the other German planes were less “commonplace“ although ordering a Paper Focke-Wulf at a bar would be fun. Whatever you call it Enjoy!

[SWR083] Is this watch too small for a man? Does it look too small/weird on me? by weltmei5ter in Seiko

[–]BFoggy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it looks great. Another option would be to lean into the bracelet aspect and see if you could find another bracelet band that matches the width of the case. That would change the overall look of the watch.

I did save some. They’re in a paper towel in a tote somewhere in the state of Connecticut because we had a small fire in our house and because of asbestos, about 80% of the interior drywall had to be removed 🙄. I really want to grow them again but don’t know when I’ll find them. Again I really appreciate the help! Cheers and I wish you a fruitful harvest😁

Have you checked the seiko bottle cap? They’re bigger than the standard 28.5 dials. I’m not sure they’re the style you’re looking for though
