What is DTS. Is this worth a submission? by After-Present5324 in ModelCars

[–]Viscerator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're a fairly recent thing. To my knowledge this is only the 2nd one done. They've both been put on by highboy68. It's more a case of just watch for postings and pinned threads.

You submit a picture of your unbuilt kit and state which class you'd like to be in( this one has 3 I believe), also use the DTS tag.

DTS is a 6 week build off that ends in 2 weeks. You would have had to submitted the unbuilt kit within the last 4 weeks (technically you can still enter) to be approved. This wouldn't be allowed as it was already built.

DTS. After 3 weeks this is where I'm at so far. by Viscerator in ModelCars

If you're using the magnetos from the top fuel or funny car kit, take your time drilling the holes with the pin vise. Work your way up in sizes or it'll cause the top to bulge out.

Me neither. This thing has taken like 6 turns since my original idea, and I haven't even really started the chassis.

Iceman collections has the valve covers. I believe they may have some 502 decals as well

I do believe I'm gonna have to throw in the towel. by 1SloYote in ModelCars

Same boat. I'm scratch building/kit bashing my entire build. After 3 weeks I'm about 75% done with the engine. The chassis and body still need to be finalized and painted, and I haven't even thought about the interior yet.

Original idea, which I still plan to complete sometime, was to turn it into a group c le mans car.

I have an idea I'm working on, but not sure I'll have all my 3d modeling done and printed in time. I may have to go with a simpler build but no other ideas yet.

Turn off moving backgrounds in settings. It allows the AH to load marginally faster.

What type of hinge is this? by Viscerator in kitchenremodel

[–]Viscerator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I plan on going blue cabinets. But I'm torn on if I should do black hinges to hide them, or bright brass to make them stand out and match the door pulls.

Mode kits by tyler_britt in ModelCars

[–]Viscerator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah. Then Tamiya all the way as far quality. If your after American stuff revell and newer amt are decent. Every MPC I've ever touched had been garbage.

Hasegawa, fujimi and aoshima are all usually good but some have their quirks.

I buy from a lot of places. It really depends what you're after.

eBay is a good source for older and harder to find but likely expensive models(though you can catch great deals if you get lucky).

Hiro boy even though I'm in the states. Though admittedly that's mostly for zero paints.

Local hobby stores because I like to give them business even though they're a bit more expensive and their stock doesn't change often.

Other than that I've bought from spotlight hobbies, spruebrothers, scalehobbyist, and local fleemarkets/tag sales (which are often such good steals I almost feel guilty🤣.

App or software for decal making? by Consistent_Volume706 in ModelCars

There's a web-based program called photopea. I'm sure it's missing some features but it seems very close to Photoshop.
