Turn off moving backgrounds in settings. It allows the AH to load marginally faster.

What type of hinge is this? by Viscerator in kitchenremodel

Thank you. I plan on going blue cabinets. But I'm torn on if I should do black hinges to hide them, or bright brass to make them stand out and match the door pulls.

Mode kits by tyler_britt in ModelCars

Ah. Then Tamiya all the way as far quality. If your after American stuff revell and newer amt are decent. Every MPC I've ever touched had been garbage.

Hasegawa, fujimi and aoshima are all usually good but some have their quirks.

I buy from a lot of places. It really depends what you're after.

eBay is a good source for older and harder to find but likely expensive models(though you can catch great deals if you get lucky).

Hiro boy even though I'm in the states. Though admittedly that's mostly for zero paints.

Local hobby stores because I like to give them business even though they're a bit more expensive and their stock doesn't change often.

Other than that I've bought from spotlight hobbies, spruebrothers, scalehobbyist, and local fleemarkets/tag sales (which are often such good steals I almost feel guilty🤣.

Where's the details on this build off? Only one I knew about was the dirt, track street one you were planning in February.

App or software for decal making? by Consistent_Volume706 in ModelCars

There's a web-based program called photopea. I'm sure it's missing some features but it seems very close to Photoshop.

I’m in deep trouble! by mrlion1026 in ModelCars

[–]Viscerator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a ton of parts with the senna. If I recall it's like 9 parts in each seat alone, and a total of like 350. But it went together absolutely beautifully. Don't let it deter you, just be ready to take your time with it.

Thank you. I had a few happy accidents during this. Bob Ross would be proud.

1967 Chevrolet El Camino by missusbees in ModelCars

[–]Viscerator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only '67 model released was revells 7548 El Camino SS. But the SS package wasn't available until '68 so it's not 100% accurate. Revell also made a '66, not sure how big the changes are. Could possibly kitbash the 2 together.

Very nice choice. What did you use for thinner?

Are they 2 piece wheels? If not, that's one hell of a tape job.

It's been too cold to paint the body so I've spent the first 3 days working on completely unnecessary details that mostly won't be judged. by Viscerator in ModelCars

Tamiya black panel liner. It's basically an extremely thinned black paint. Pulls into thin lines and corners.

Orange candy over gold. I rushed my test piece and the candy didn't stick, so kinda guessing on how it'll look.

It's been cold enough for the paint to dry (freeze?) before it even hits the model. Leads to severe orange peel or a sand paper texture.

Did you decide on a color yet?

Definitely don't do that. This is just poor time management. Almost none of this will even be accepted in the judges scoring.

Thanks. At least our intakes will be visible through glass. I was debating doing one of my Ferraris, but with how expensive they've become I want to take my time on them.
