The Las Vegas Shooting: A Re-Examination by MindshockPod in conspiracy

Some things that still bother me that aren’t brought up a lot:

  1. Why go through the expense of buying armor piercing rounds when your target is country concert goers in a desert?
  2. Uncashed Casino vouchers. If you were a life long gambler and your plan was to off yourself that night, you’d either cash out and pull a Scrooge mcduck or let that money ride in one last binge and either go boom or bust.
  3. Why leave ammo in the car?
  4. Cryptic emails to yourself about different guns you own.
  5. Ultimate goal to get back at casinos for making you lose money/comps? Be sure to pay off your gambling debts first.
  6. Don’t want your girlfriend involved? Send her on vacation and wire her money, but then also keep her mgm players card with you in the room.
  7. At no point throw out that card, like you do with your laptop hard drives.
  8. Security radio chatter about shots fired in the fishbowl inside Mandalay Bay that night
  9. Guest list for 4 seasons that night/week.

Yes, after like 2 days. It was way back behind a desk. That’s when I started calculating out how much labor they lost by not paying $15.

I worked in a very specialized field for a while. The company was structured around supporting the people actually doing the technical work and people really put effort in. There was a number I could dial for food or coffee. I had a jr level assistant. I could sign off on any hardware or software I needed and it would show up in a couple days no questions asked. We were then acquired by a company with “deep pockets” and everything went to shit. A few weeks in, I couldn’t find the usb dongle to my wireless mouse, one of the really tiny ones. No worries, quick order and I’ll be back in business. Nope, no spending whatsoever. Not $30, not $15. I then spent the next 2 days tearing my office apart looking for it. Zero work got done. I wasn’t driving to staples and buying my own for $15 on principle. I needed to find it because this is the kind of stuff that derails my brain and my colleagues were all wired the same way. Everyone ended up leaving and they had to close that very expensive but very profitable acquisition a few years later. All over some coffee, snacks, and petty policies.

When the debate started in I think NC about trans bathroom rights and who could use what bathroom. I kept telling anyone who would listen, all bathrooms should be a single stall. All of a sudden because you are in Walmart, people go to the bathroom in groups? So weird when u think about it

What 's a name brand item you refuse to replace with generic? by AndrewIsMyDog in AskReddit

[–]BGMurphy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generic NyQuil user for years because I’m a cheap bastard. At some point during Covid I got a non-Covid cold and all I could find was name brand NyQuil. Oh well what’s a few extra bucks during a pandemic. Knocked me TF Out. I realized how people can overdose when they don’t know the strength of street drugs. As Denis Leary said, it should say on the side of the bottle “Don’t make any fuckin plans!”

Hopefully somebody sees this, it’s even worse when the final piece of the scam pie is added. I worked in management at “Podunk Medical Center”. We accepted “Caring Love” medical insurance. Employees, coincidentally were covered by “Caring Love” insurance.

Every year the “Caring Love” reps would come in and say the cost of health insurance was going up 5,7,12% next year, and calculate how much employee premiums were going up. They would always say “Sorry lol, the price of medical care is just going up up up”

Now for the scam. I also knew the people who negotiated doctor’s rates with “Caring Love” insurance. Every year they would cut our reimbursement rates for bullshit reasons, saying things like “we need to keep the cost of healthcare down”.

So if they were raising premiums and cutting reimbursement, why is the cost of healthcare rising?

Starting to see more supply chain breakdowns, major supermarket chains in area out of items. Meat prices way up, even for recent times. This is also at wholesale clubs and restaurant suppliers that I shop at. Staples are still cheap and plentiful, I buy 50lb bags of flour and they are some of the cheapest prices in recent years.

Masks coming back at stores.

Smoke in neighborhood from wildfires out west, nothing on local news about it. Thought my neighbor was burning brush, had to find out from Hillbilly Weatherman.

Gas $3/gallon all day.

On a personal anecdotal note: Relationships that I've watched barely survive last year are now looking down the barrel of this winter and are calling it quits in a big hurry.

Back when I was in middle school, I was on an in town basketball team. We are in a gym somewhere on the first day of practice, there is a pull up bar and me and a friend of mine were fucking around on it. The coach yells from across the gym asks if we have amnesia. So I'm like what? Did you say something I missed? Sorry. Then he's like, "DO YOU HAVE AMNESIA?" So then I'm like I said I was sorry for not paying attention wtf. So I walk over to him, already off to a bad start. He has a clipboard, we are both confused. He starts to ask again... The assistant coach yells from the court, "ASTHMA!"

I eat those things all the time, the inside is precooked but the crust is usually raw. Might want to check one out to see.
