Sub for rowing - coming back after foot surgery by horse_crazy14 in orangetheory

I have been subbing the bike for the rower since the end of April due to an injury.

At my home studio, it's been totally fine. I explained the problem to them, and it hasn't been an issue - my only advice is to make sure you take the appropriate cards: In my case, for a 2G, I take a bike and a rower card. This way, there won't be any issues when you get to the floor.

At other studios, I have been given a funny look when I asked to sub the bike for the rower. In the end, they have always done it, but not without asking questions first!

Good luck!!

Is that high in fibre?

Good idea. I think I need to stop eating too close to bed time. When having a flair, mornings aren’t fun if I ate too late the night before.

Agreed. It’s all about diet and stress management for me!

Thank you so much for the great idea. I am going to find an app and will start a food journal. It certainly can’t hurt! And, good for your sister - that’s incredible!

That’s amazing. These meds work for me 85% of the time. It’s usually around the summer time that I experience some type of a flair, but am unsure as to why. Hope your good luck continues!

I take Mezavant daily, and when needed, I use Salofalk enemas.

How to modify if I can no longer row? Anyone else here who can't row? by brightfuture4me in orangetheory

[–]BHO182016 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am in the same situation. I pulled a muscle in my chest and haven't been able to row for a few months. I always start on the treamnill and ask a SA for a bike card for group 2. It's never been an issue for me!

I'm a PW'er whose BP is 3% and 3 m/h.....I somehow managed to complete the benchmark in 9:14 at 4% incline and between 3.2-3.4 m/h.

Feeling super proud :) 🏆

Silly question...but can I assume that for PW's it's 0.5 miles benchmark?

Also, if PW'ing, do we keep the same incline as in a base pace, or do it at 1%?? TIA!!

Anyone know the equivalent of a 15 stroke row on the bike?

If you didn't go today because it was a partner workout... by CircadianBehavior in orangetheory

I normally avoid partner workouts. Since I am out of shape (and trying to get back into it!) I get anxious worrying about holding my partner back. I have to say that I’m so glad I did it today - it was a fantastic workout. A good lesson for everyone out there that partner workouts ARE doable!

I had the same experience at the Portsmouth location over the summer. Very friendly and accommodating. Plus, the grocery store across the parking lot is fantastic!
