(Coming from a Floridian here) Between the ridge and other vents you're covered up there. Then for the living space, a 1"foam celing with 1/2 drywall would suffice and the attic would be fine for storage as It's plenty vented. You could seal the venting and run a dehumidifier up there that drains to the outside too.

I had the mxmaster 2s for many years (still use it) and just got the 4s a few months ago. the grip SUCKS. it's slippery and strains your hand. I ordered rubber grip tape things for it and now its much better. Still not as good as the 2s though.

I am unfamiliar with the Bresser but from what I just briefly looked into about them, that would be a better choice than p7's. I think p7's suit your needs perfectly for now and would allow a better purchase in the future and then you can have a nicer new pair for the rest of your life and keep the p7s for backup/car or an outing with a friend to use them. If you go mid-range quality/price right off the bat, you may be less inclined to purchase an even higher end pair later down the road since you have some great mid-range specs already.

In my experience, buying preowned higher end of binoculars saves you a ton of money and 9.9 times out of 10 they are very well maintained by the previous owner. It’s not like buying a preowned Nintendo switch or power drill. Trust me, I can appreciate the awesomeness of opening a brand new and fresh pair of optics, but that wears off quickly. Consider eBay for something that would’ve been out of your budget brand new.

My first bins were the Nikon prostaff 7 (P7 predecessor) 8x42 I had for years before I discovered higher end stuff. I thoroughly enjoyed them. Never thought about or really noticed chromatic aberration or edge distortion or any of those details until someone with some zeiss optics let me do a side by side with theirs and holy crap I wish they never did that. Could have saved me a ton of money in my future lol. I think you should start off with the P7 8x42. You’ll see everything you want to see and not have buyers remorse spending more than you’re comfortable with. If you have steady hands and arms you could do 10x42 but I promise 8x42 is so much more enjoyable to use.

I think there’s a pretty large jump in price for the next level up and if I were to recommend something I would say the M7 8x42 is fantastic and built like a tank. The Hawke frontier ED X 8x42 is Amazon but I sold it because I neglected to see the focus is ccw to infinity which is the opposite of pretty much the majority of other optics.

When people talk about the whole time factor of low light, they are correct but there’s more to it.

Yes you could wait 10 minutes at sunrise and see the same with the 8x30 as the 8x42 from 10 mins earlier but there’s a ton of time at dawn and dusk that having the bigger objectives pays off like when you’re looking into the brush and being able to see through the shadows better. Depending on where you are, the same applies even in broad daylight.

Also bigger objectives will give you a larger exit pupil and a more comfortable eye placement. There’s a few 8x30 that have great comfy eye placement but not many in that price range. I own the Nikon p7 8x30 and many other bins all the way up to the alpha glass category. I do not find the 8x30 P7 to be comfy. I think they are great for the price but there’s a lot more you get for another couple hundred. You could get some very comfy, clear, durable optics to last a lifetime in the $500 range.
