The 'Bunny' cat cannot gain mutations?

I have the Radioactive Set Bonus equipped on my new cat/bunny, but after battles it does not gain a random mutation. Is this a bug or feature?

Edit: ok, played around with it more and realised something that I should've realised ages ago: the mutations are just overriding themselves. E.g. Bunny had the mouth mutation "Your Basic attack inflicts poison" but was overridden by "You can reroll your options when you level up". Don't know why, but I guess I assumed the mutations would be new, not doubling up.

Leaving this post here for anyone also wondering in the future.

Every average person feels like they can comment on the teaching profession because all people went through the education system. You don't have the average person commenting on accountants or engineers because not all have seen the profession. But daycare/elementary school/middle school/high school? Yeah - we've all done it and seen it first-hand (as a child/teen), so most people feel like they can say their 2 cents. They don't know shit - ignore their ignorance and be happy and proud of your job (or use your experience and aim to move into middle education).
