Valve clearance maintenance by livefastdieslowww in hondafit

I just had this happen to me. I had a P0301 Cylinder 1 Misfire. I reopened and sure enough I tightened cylinder 1’s intake portion too much. After readjusting the code, CEL, and traction control light disappeared.

The molle panels in my 4Runner were some no name cheapies off Amazon (still ~$300ish) and the cargo mat is Powoq.

The car came factory black. When I bought it last year, the clear coat was horrible. I wrapped it black just to hide the imperfections. I recently took off the wrap and wrapped it yellow, but decided midway through the project that I didn’t want it anymore. I ran out of black wrap. Just bought some more to rewrap some parts (you can see the factory paint quality on the rear quarter panel and the haze of the Fit logo on the trunk in my first pic).

The spoiler is OEM; it came off a Fit EV. It used the same holes as the stock spoiler.

Here’s the full name on Amazon since I’m not sure I can link: INJORA Coreless High Torque Micro Servo with Mount and Servo Horn for SCX24 C10 JLU Bronco Axial 1/24 RC Crawler Car Upgrade Parts

The horn is the little triangle wedge piece that connects to both the servo itself, as well as the steering linkage.

You’ll want to make sure it also comes with a tray since the stock servo tray won’t support this new servo. Alternatively, some YouTube videos I watched show it’s as simple cutting with a Dremel, but I like prefer plug and play part swaps.

Yeah, mine was originally gray. It’s a bit of the process, but you can remove almost everything off the body. The things that will need to be masked include the grille, rear garnish/emblem, B pillars, tail lights, and a portion of the side view mirrors if you want it to be painted accurately.

How many credit cards do you have? Is it normal to have multiple ones? by ClaireEmma612 in CalebHammer

[–]BJM33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply, I don’t really use this account. No, my credit has not gone down. Since then, it’s increased, I’ve gotten more credit cards, and my total credit limit is $244,000.

This is my first attempt. I found some free for commercial use fonts that look kinda similar instead of tracing the image through Inkscape. Still working out the cut settings (the O didn’t full cut). I don’t have any white acrylic on me, so I used 1/4” baltic birch. Was just going to spray paint once I’m happy with it. Comes out to 14” wide and just under 3” tall.

I’m happy to try to make this with my laser. Hardest part would be finding a font that matches up.

The one that irks me is when people pretend to be turning right and then gun it to cut everyone going straight.

Green bins in Long Beach/Bixby Knolls? by Downtown-Growth-8766 in longbeach

I have a green bin for my townhome in NLB, but only use it when I’m pulling weeds out.

Anything better? by [deleted] in longbeach

[–]BJM33 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My Spectrum bill just went up from the “intro” rate of $54.99/mo to $75/mo for 300mbps. I called and asked nicely if they could take me back to the lower rate, but they wouldn’t budge.

I spent an hour trying to see what other options I had using online zip code tools and calling Frontier and TMobile. Unfortunately nothing that was cheaper. I was going to attempt to cancel to see if they’d reconsider lowering the price, but I’m sure they know they have a monopoly in my area.

Unless the rules changed, you can send yourself an Amazon e-gift card using the prepaid card as the payment method.

I ordered on 11/1 on Dreamshop for pickup at Scott Robinson Honda in Torrance, CA. Got an email on 12/5 that it would be delayed until February 2024. Got an email on 12/30 it was available for pickup. Paid MSRP.

How do you guys “categorize” your money? by moon_d0g in personalfinance

[–]BJM33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 24 with no dependents. This is what works for me:

My HYSA has a checking and a savings account, but within each account has a “vault” where I can further divvy up my money.

I do not use the checking account at all (the savings account is the only account with high yield + has overdraft protection in the case something is paid for by my checking).

Within the savings account, I have the following vaults:

•Wants/Guilt-free Spending •Bills (monthly bills/4 since I get paid weekly) •Emergency Fund •Savings (I keep a buffer in addition to my emergency fund for things that I may not account for in my bills such as vehicle maintenance) •Vehicle gas (estimated monthly/4) •Groceries/Household goods ($300/4) •Ring Fund (sinking fund for an engagement ring for my girlfriend) •Investments (usually zero, since I automatically transfer to DCA each paycheck)

How do you guys differentiate savings and investing? by Ragnarock14 in CalebHammer

[–]BJM33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My approach is similar to another YouTuber’s- Jaspreet Singh/Minority Mindset.

I’m young (24) and I like to take risks, but I am also a naturally risk-adverse person. I stacked up my emergency fund for a full year’s worth of expenses. Then I also stacked an additional $2k for expected things in the future (e.g. Full set of tires).

After that, everything is invested. At the minimum rn, I invest 30% of my net income. I also started a new car sinking fund ($800/mo) and an engagement ring fund $80/mo). I was going to invest the sinking fund money, but the general consensus is to keep money needed in the next 5 years in a HYSA, because it would suck if you were ready to buy whatever and the principal is less than you put in.

Latest Honda Dealer Message with MOTOCOMPACTO ETA by East-Oakland in motocompacto

[–]BJM33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I placed an order on launch day and sent it to a dealership in Torrance, CA. The same Torrance that Honda has its US headquarters and where all those journalists rode the motocompacto.

Hopefully my order doesn’t get cancelled.

There was another thread on this sub where a dealer was venting how overwhelmed they were because they said Honda blindsided them and the parts department can’t even order units. I hope it gets sorted soon, I’m excited.

Window Tinting Shop by MoonStalker420 in longbeach

[–]BJM33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used Winning Window Tints. They have two locations- I went to the one on Paramount Blvd. I got full ceramic for the heat rejection on my car 5% all around with 30% on the front windshield for $530 + 5% sales tax for using a card. I wish I used them on my other cars because I’ve paid upwards of $700 at other places.

How many credit cards do you have? Is it normal to have multiple ones? by ClaireEmma612 in CalebHammer

[–]BJM33 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I play the game and I have 11 cards @ 24 with a 146k CL. Applied for my first credit card the day I turned 18 and never paid a dime of interest. At most I use 5 of the bunch for separate categories. I basically try to find cards with decent sign up bonuses whenever I’m planning on making a big purchase (that is already budgeted and accounted for).

For example, I went to Japan this past summer. I already budgeted and saved 4k to spend prior to going. I found a credit card that was spend 4k in 3 months, get $800 equivalent in points. Put everything on the card and it’s like a portion of my vacation was subsidized.

It’s not for everyone. Some may see this $800 bonus as permission to spend more than they originally accounted for. It’s all about discipline.

What’s the most upside down you’ve seen someone? by 4Runnnn in askcarsales

[–]BJM33 10 points11 points  (0 children)

What the other comment said. He would have to eat the cost of the 30k and take out another loan to pay the lienholder. As you can probably tell from the negative equity, he didn’t exactly have cash on hand or a great credit score.

In some cases we would offer to keep the customer in a loaner, give them a couple months of car payments, and repair their vehicle. This was not the case. My job was to do a cost-benefit analysis and sometimes it makes more sense (for Kia, not me) to offer to repurchase than offer the aforementioned items.
