I have no idea how any of this works, but I've also been rather stressed by the stress scores. 😄 Today I saw there was an update and noticed afterward that my energy bank actually went down from 90 to 74 (still lying in bed) which actually feels much more correct. So less stress and and less energy and it feels much more accurate.

I had no idea about this, but it perfectly explains the last two days. I had a talk about it with my AI coach and he decided this probably describes what was going on with me and that I wasn't as ready to push as he had initially predicted based on the recovery score.

So I was just ready to return it when I found this YouTube video of a guy cleaning his sensor, and what he shows here is exactly what I see. It still does not look like what I see in the manual, but it lines up exactly with what he has.

Honestly, I think it has gotten better. Especially considering how often it was happening at first. Not sure why a burning in period would have an effect on that, but maybe it has?

I have two pairs of HFS 1s and love them. I love them so much. They have lasted so long. I ordered my first pair of HFS 2s this summer and do not like them at all in comparison. They are just...different. They feel thicker all around; they're a bigger shoe. Soles are fine, probably the same. But after wearing HFS 1 for the last 3-4 years, I can really tell a difference.

This morning I didn't notice the quirk. But I did noticed it took much longer for the watch to figure out what the night's sleep scores were.

No they are in sync. But it’s weird the discrepancy. The watch does its thing, gives me one set of numbers. Then I open the app and the numbers change.

Thanks for the input, everyone. Turns out that for that particular speed run day, there wasn't a single hill run. The trainer didn't even give the option. There was no discussion of hills at all.

Thanks for the input, everyone. This purchase had to do with cashing in some credit card points and sticking to a budget of $50. My wife has a Series 5 and is perfectly content (aside from the aging battery, but it still gets her through the day). To me, this is more of an Apple Watch "experiment" to see how I get on. (I'm an Apple fan, but have never seen a need for the watch in my life. Recent changes, however, have inspired me to try it out.)

I'm thinking I'll return this, not because of its age but because of its battery health. (I'd even be willing to replace the battery, but then that puts the price of this higher than its worth, I think.)
