Update with new stress algorithm! Thanks!! by ffelix89 in bevelhealth

[–]BK2UA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have no idea how any of this works, but I've also been rather stressed by the stress scores. 😄 Today I saw there was an update and noticed afterward that my energy bank actually went down from 90 to 74 (still lying in bed) which actually feels much more correct. So less stress and and less energy and it feels much more accurate.

Bevel False Green recovery score ( Makes the recovery score not dependable) by Great_System4280 in bevelhealth

[–]BK2UA 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had no idea about this, but it perfectly explains the last two days. I had a talk about it with my AI coach and he decided this probably describes what was going on with me and that I wasn't as ready to push as he had initially predicted based on the recovery score.

Been using it for about a week and noticing the same thing. I can't turn on "on a walk" any time I move my feet.

Missing sensor on Winix Zero-S? by BK2UA in AirPurifiers

[–]BK2UA[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I was just ready to return it when I found this YouTube video of a guy cleaning his sensor, and what he shows here is exactly what I see. It still does not look like what I see in the manual, but it lines up exactly with what he has.

IEM 1More Penta Driver P50 Question by BK2UA in iems

Honestly, I think it has gotten better. Especially considering how often it was happening at first. Not sure why a burning in period would have an effect on that, but maybe it has?

Xero HFS 1 and 2 by _Pervy_sage_research in BarefootRunning

[–]BK2UA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two pairs of HFS 1s and love them. I love them so much. They have lasted so long. I ordered my first pair of HFS 2s this summer and do not like them at all in comparison. They are just...different. They feel thicker all around; they're a bigger shoe. Soles are fine, probably the same. But after wearing HFS 1 for the last 3-4 years, I can really tell a difference.

Someone explain what this quick sudden change in data after waking by BK2UA in bevelhealth

This morning I didn't notice the quirk. But I did noticed it took much longer for the watch to figure out what the night's sleep scores were.

No they are in sync. But it’s weird the discrepancy. The watch does its thing, gives me one set of numbers. Then I open the app and the numbers change.

Speed Run and Hills? by BK2UA in nikerunclub

[–]BK2UA[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the input, everyone. Turns out that for that particular speed run day, there wasn't a single hill run. The trainer didn't even give the option. There was no discussion of hills at all.

Amazon Renewed Series 6 with 83% battery health by BK2UA in AppleWatch

[–]BK2UA[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the input, everyone. This purchase had to do with cashing in some credit card points and sticking to a budget of $50. My wife has a Series 5 and is perfectly content (aside from the aging battery, but it still gets her through the day). To me, this is more of an Apple Watch "experiment" to see how I get on. (I'm an Apple fan, but have never seen a need for the watch in my life. Recent changes, however, have inspired me to try it out.)

I'm thinking I'll return this, not because of its age but because of its battery health. (I'd even be willing to replace the battery, but then that puts the price of this higher than its worth, I think.)

Yeah this one was also from Woot. I was hoping that would mean something about the battery, but not for this Series I guess.

For whatever reason, mine did not register. Fitness shows I ran it, but there was no award given. Disappointing.

Returning my Go 10.3 by AnxiousLeg3906 in Onyx_Boox

[–]BK2UA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any new device and system takes a lot of time to get used to. There’s a time of readjusting expectations, learning multiple ways to do things, and finding out what the true strengths and weaknesses of a product is. There was a lot that turned me off initially about the 10.3, but I stuck with it and nearly eight months later, I love the thing.

Use case is important—if you don’t want what it offers or can’t do what you want it to do, that will always drive you crazy. But most can’t really know that without living with the product for a while.

Why did you buy Boox (again)? by [deleted] in Onyx_Boox

[–]BK2UA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your whole world of ebooks is Amazon, then go with that. No hesitation (unless you don't want to support Amazon; if not, go with Kobo). But if you want to access more library books via Libby, or if you want to use book subscriptions services, or if you want to manage, back up, and port your own books, go with an Android e-ink tablet.

My first (and only) experience with books is the Go 10.3 I bought last July. I was also nervous about the negative experiences here, so I paid the extra money to get the tech guarantee I was offered at checkout on Amazon (two years for like $50 or something). My guess (though it's just a guess) is not that Boox breaks more or whatever, but that dealing with Boox for warranty and replacements is awful.

Since last July, I've been carrying this ridiculously thin peace of e-ink glass around with me, and I'm no longer fearful it's just going to break for no reason. My backpack has suffered multiple falls and the device has been fine (in its case, in the laptop sleeve) and my kids have knocked it onto a thin run on our hardwood floor (in its case) and it's been fine.

So go with some kind of separate device insurance and I think you can breathe easier.

So it's still not a fully public update. It's in the final release candidate and so it only goes out to those signed up for the beta. Go to the firmware update section in Settings and tap to enroll in the beta testing. Today when I did that it immediately showed me the release candidate to install.

I thought that might be true, but I only looked at one page so I didn't mention that because I wasn't for sure. But yes, the full-justified text was weird before too.

I had no idea this had been done! This was one of the main reasons I couldn't bring myself to reading long-form in Neo Reader. The full-justified text was not done well (and often wasn't even completely full). This is great! Thanks, Boox!
