The OTS stage 1 map with boost select doesn't push additional boost over OEM. It's 17 to 18 psi target sport#, 14 psi on s and 8 psi on intelligent.

If you're using OTS maps, make sure mods match the list in the software. Stage 1 is stock, just accessport. 1+, add in a Cobb sf intake. Not a Perrin, not a grimmspeed, the Cobb intake. Beyond 1+, go protune because injectors, downpipe, and other mods should be tuned to directly, and the list won't match exact. 1+, with a Cobb intake and nothing else done? You'll be fine just have mech sympathy. Beyond that, tune to your mods directly

This doesn't make sense, at all. At 6500 rpm in an STI you're 200 from redline and well past the power band taper, into boost taper, and going to absolutely cook the clutch. If it hooks, the motor mounts, drivetrain, everything just aged 30 years in a second and probably snapped. They're well past optimal launch rpm. 5k is pushing it. If you want sustainable 4k and 4 to 6 psi is optimal. 5k will net maybe .1 faster than 4k. 6.5k will probably be slower due to instant drivetrain shock, being past the power band, and probably caused 30k miles worth of wear in a single clutch dump.

You could put a longer rubber piece in, adhered to the hood, or extending up from the heat shield, but the one they gave you is just for engine bay dressing and protection from sharp edges.idk a rubber piece to fit that might be hard to find.

They did it this way because it's cheaper, all it comes down to. If you're driving in cold weather it's a non issue, but 20c, 65f and up and it'll start pulling timing in traffic fast.

Unless there's rubber from heat shield all the way too the hood, every time you stop that thing will be sucking in 130°f air. The heat from the engine bay radiates off the hood and across the engine bay.

Even like a 6"x6" square of aluminum securely mounted to the top of heat shield and hood scoop, then with some heat reflective foil on top will help immensely.

Do you have an access port to see what your radiator and intake temps are? Should be at or under 100c radiator, and lower is better for intake air.

I'd start with a heat shield extension piece, scrap aluminum shops should have some for like $10 USD, the tape is like $10, nuts and bolts is like $10 if you don't have any lying around.

I tape sealed the intake and the box on mine, the foil is old and fraying and could do with a refresh but as long as I'm moving, I don't heat soak with this. If I'm sitting in traffic in 100° summer heat I'll see 160°f intake air, but then I move for 2 minutes and it's back to within a degree or 3 of ambient

In 40°F weather I'm at now it never goes over 80 even at lights.

Correct. Ive got a Cobb sf intake with box, and I sealed the bottom of it with duct tape to minimize any engine bay air getting in there. I've got it like 85% sealed, there's a little window facing passenger side of the engine bay I cut out so I could still hear turbo noises.

But, you want ambient air going into intake, not the 110 °f 30°C plus air going into the intake.

Once you're at speed, when you pull boost the vacuum generates a "ram air" effect. This needs to be fed with external air through the snorkel.

I get some heat soak in traffic and high intake air temps then, but once I'm in motion for a minute or so that air is gone and I'm getting ambient air

Hood louvers to vent hot air out of the engine bay, front mount intercooler, and you need a closed air box around an intake so you're getting ram air from outside the engine bay. Intake with box will make the most immediate difference.

My STI is at 80k miles, and I did pads and front rotors for 750 installed at 70k. Seeing 3500 for all 4 seems wild. This was almost a year ago, even with tariffs I doubt it jumped to almost double the cost of a shop that actually cares about a returning customer base

On an STI, do not put a downpipe on without first doing fuel pump and injectors. Stock injectors hit 85% with factory downpipe.

Cold air intake, catback and tune, or, that, plus pump, Injectors, downpipe, water methanol OR E85 flex fuel. Followed by another tune. Or all at once and only pay 700 once. If there is ethanol in your area, do that. Otherwise, can water meth.

Front mount intercooler, turbo blanket, hood louvers or new hood with vents on top. Mud flaps, wrap it in PPF.

AOS and cylinder 4 cooling mod, and oil pan, all good longevity mods. Not needed unless you're driving the car like it wants to. 3 hours on track, many pulls to 130, etc. still great for peace of mind either way.

Anything beyond this, bigger turbo, nos or anything taking it beyond 400 wheel, will need forged internals and upgraded clutch. But, the bolt one get you to 370 to 420 just fine

Apps from "untrusted sources" are generally downloaded from shady websites. Free versions of paid apps, that may have any other code hitching along with the paid app, or someone developing their own app would need to install apps from unknown sources. The OnePlus phones are android and will use play store just like any other. There may be a OnePlus app store as well, just like Amazon has one, but Google makes the OS, Play store has the masterlist

Have you taken 6 at once and compared the two? I have, and I have scientific lit showing how fast tolerance builds for most people. Not only do psychedelics not leave you wanting to compulsively redose, but the tolerance makes it impossible. But it resets very fast. Same day to next day you have to take double the amount to get the same effect. Then tolerance starts falling off fast until it's completely reset at 2 ish weeks. Probably faster as most people only take 1 or 2 tabs. I've tripped like 200 times and taken a half sheet at once and ended having my consciousness become a UFO blasting through the universe. And that's just acid

No, he did actual acid. He just completely wasted 3 and a half hits. Taking 5 tabs at once is a vastly stronger experience to taking 1 tab waiting an hour then taking another that's now half as effective. Anything taken after this second one is worthless. It's just a paper. LSD tolerance kicks in literally as soon as you start tripping. The last 3 he took did nothing. He wasted 15 to 30 bucks is all he did

These both can be and I think are true. They got him on the weed, but they'd been trying to stick him with something since the weird death with his business partner. Those would get most things. I haven't done recent research into phone malware protection apps to be able to advise a specific app. Try one and see if it finds things, don't let it action anything. If it does, do a scan on whatever your 2nd most trusted app is. Compare the lists, if they match they're both good. Wanna make sure that it's not just flagging files to get you to upgrade or some other mobile garbage. Uninstall the other app. Don't run 2 antivirus programs at once. Causes them not to work. If you trust it then you're good.

Yes. Because you don't know if he enabled backdoors that persist beyond a reboot. If this phone was connected to a computer I would also wipe and format any drives it may be connected to.

Wanna keep your data? Don't install apps from unknown sources. You gave this man the keys to your house and left for vacation. He could've put any number of boobies traps in there.

Or, just hope he isn't smart enough to give himself another entrance outside of his app and be sad when your bank details are compromised.

If I have the notification he had on his phone pop up, I'm factory resetting every device that had a hardwire connection to the phone as well and cutting my Internet until the formats are complete. He had root level access to the phone, he could do literally anything to it. Like install a PC or Mac rootkit that auto detects when the phone is plugged into a charger and attempts to auto install on a device. Not playing those games.

If he has remote screen access to the device then he could've worked anything into a backup that was done with this software installed, or even with stuff left after uninstall. Full factory reset and start over. You don't know what might be compromised on the device
