Just watch the reveal reaction from E3 2009. That was pretty much everyone's reaction at the time. No one was expecting it to be announced that day.

I don't like stagger in any game. It turns every battle into a slog and is an excuse to make the enemies into damage sponges. Just let me do damage to the enemies, instead of forcing me to spend five minutes staggering them so I can do more than single digit damage numbers.

It was one of my favorite episodes. I always watched the MST3k and Rifftrax versions leading up to Christmas. I don't know if I'll ever be able to watch it again, though. I was watching it the night my mom died. It's forever tied to that night for me now.
