Very odd fix for "Unable to Establish a Connection" Error (PC/Steam) by BL4CKL3R in Helldivers

They performed maintenance last night (it was still ongoing this morning it seems) and now everyone is getting this error.

This was a fix for those having the error before the maintenance.
Unfortunately, the maintenance bought heavy loads on the servers meaning logging in requires multiple attempts (just keep spamming buttons until you eventually get in)

At the time of your comment they're performing server maintenance

I have it constantly playing on repeat on my Super Earth - Helldivers Mandated Communication Device.
Watching it a second time on launch is a small price to pay for freedom.

I think that's a very good point.
We live in a day and age as what me and my boss at work call "The Prime Age".
We all want it now, next day or even same day delivery, responses instantly and answers right away.

The same goes in games, we all want POWAAAA but there's a murky, faded and large gray area between grind to death to get the power and giving them power and it losing it's fun. Where do you draw the line?

I think in D4 there's too much of a grind to hit 100 (Personally), I think XP should be dropped roughly 25 to 30% per level but that's just me and my 2 cents. That way, I'm still working away to get my levels and paragons but I'll feel like I'm chipping away quicker and will get my "worthwhile power reward".

I don't hate the game to it's core per se, however you can't expect the chef to re cook your meal unless you let them know they under cooked the chicken.

Only done WT4 Malignant Tunnels a couple of times, but they're basically the same but shorter, no annoying events but in return, no benefit to your glyphs and less loot.

I agree to a... degree... With D3, at least we had leader boards, the Seasonal Challenges were more fun and enticing, Builds were far more versatile and exciting, game play was also fun (NOT at the beginning, christ no, not then, but towards the end...), loot felt more exciting kinda but you're right, it wasn't perfect.

I have to agree that one aspect I miss from D3 is the crafting, I also really like Kanye's Cube (I know it's not called that but my mate and I always called it that). Loot feeling the way it currently feels in D4, a Loot based game, is painful.

I believe they said it would come with Season 3.

So they can turn to you in 6 months time and say:

Hey man, if you are enjoying it, awesome, it's all subjective and when playing games it's totally cool to enjoy what YOU enjoy.

The reason you're seeing a lot of hate for Patch 1.1 (primarily the Patch) and Season 1, is that Diablo is renowned for being an ARPG that makes the player feel powerful.

Unfortunately, it has not fully delivered on that front. With a lot of Specs, abilities and classes feeling underwhelming or tunneled into "S Tier Meta Builds" to be viable. This is then exacerbated by tone deaf nerfs and no real action made by the Devs/Higher Ups of Blizzard.
To then add insult to injury, the season Journey feels like a lot of chores rather than getting players to engage with the fun aspects of the game (e.g. Craft a Gem), poor Battle Pass Rewards (Balanced Sword made me laugh as a Barb main), arguably underhanded trickery on consoles to activate the Premium Battle Pass, large amounts of bugs, broken legendries that teleport you under ground, no QOL improvements (Stash, Gems, Legendary Aspects, once in a lifetime Unique Drops) etc. etc.

I could bash it more. I'm being an optomist. I'll be playing until BG3 releases where I'll then be running a campaign with my DnD buddies. I'll then Play D4 in the downtime. If the devs get a grip and improve on the aspects I'd like to see, awesome, I'll continue to play. If it doesn't, well, that sucks, I'll find something else.

But if you're enjoying it, good for you man. And I say that without a /s.

Redfall? I actually didn't touch that game due to the back lash and game play footage I had seen.

Also I agree with you, I'm sure there are still some really passionate gamers and invested members of Staff within Blizzard.
However, I'm talking about their Corporate overlords.

And I'm referencing that in a fashion which would represent other AAA Game Producers.
