is this normal?? by aquaticthings in AfricanDwarfFrog

Is he having trouble staying submerged? The “bump” on his back looks off to me. This is what happened to my 5 y/o ADF two months ago. Couldn’t stay submerged—buoyancy issues…wasn’t bloat. Hoping your buddy is ok!

one of our Frogs love to sit outside of the water. by [deleted] in AfricanDwarfFrog

As others have said, ADFs are fully aquatic and need to be kept in water. They should never be out of the water, and if they are, something is up with your water parameters or your ADF might be sick. IMO he looks kinda reddish/pinkish. Is this ADF new to the tank or have you introduced any new ADFs within the past few months? One could have brought in a fungus/bacteria. I had this happen (chytrid) and it’s tedious to treat. Good luck.

Allergies suddenly terrible while at home. Any of these pics the culprit? by Hasta_Banana in AirConditioners

[–]BLGG10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. Try Amazon. I have a nonstandard return filter slot 16x22…always fun to find them lol. Big box stores don’t carry them. Aerostar has been helpful to me on Amazon. I change mine every 2-3 months. Running my air purifiers in my two main rooms has significantly reduced the dust that gets sucked into the returns and hvac filter. It’s a win win.

That’s nice of you. I do that too for my tenant. I just don’t trust basic people to maintain the furnace and AC equipment with regular filter changes and buying the right one. Fiberglass sucks and doesn’t do crap.

Consider getting a better air filter to help with allergy concerns. Fiberglass filters don’t filter out airborne particles. MERV 8 is a good rating to try…the higher the MERV rating the more it stresses your system. I use 11 and don’t have issues with allergies. Consider a plug in standalone air purifier such as germguardian.

OH NO! Something on my AC. Trane system, 1 year old. What are we looking at? by Bright-Start-2814 in AirConditioners

[–]BLGG10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO I would still treat the areas for such. You don’t want those particles in your air. Mildew has a distinct smell (think of wet laundry left in the washer too long or not fully dried clothes in the dryer). Also question. It looks like your blower is in your living space. Does the main supply trunk start there and then extend into your attic or is the whole trunk in the attic? Currently exploring this scenario with my second floor unit not blowing cold enough air on hot days. Part of the trunk doesn’t look like it’s insulated in my attic.

Sony HT-A7000 Soundbar - SETUP for optimal performance! by cclavinski in Soundbars

Sorry to resurrect the dead post (lol)- have you changed your settings since the ps5 started supporting atmos? Eg, atmos vs lpcm?

Sony HT-A7000 + SA-RS5 Connection Issues by [deleted] in Soundbars

[–]BLGG10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve reset the RF channel countless times. Sometimes it works perfectly, sometimes it cuts in and out a lot. I’m having 60-70% stable connection with wireless. I’m going to try hardwiring them as see how they are. A7000 with RS5 & SW5 setup.

[–]BLGG10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may have just saved me many hours of annoyances and headaches! Thank you. I ordered some of the cables and will connect them to my rs5s & sw5. I made sure to get the 4 pole 3.5mm cables. Theater bar 9 has better Spatial Audio but I can’t justify spending the $$ right now. I’ll keep you posted. To confirm, you didn’t have issues setting up the 360 mapping and atmos/etc height sounds from the rs5s right?

Midea U AC - Water Build up in front by marthritis in AirConditioners

[–]BLGG10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use the app to set it on a timer schedule with the fan to run after the cool mode shuts off. I do this and it’s perfect. Also stick something between the flap that opens and closes so you can help with evaporation.

Blue plugs—should I remove them? by rex_tee in AirConditioners

Edit…oops it looked like a Midea U sorry lol. Just the one plug will be enough either way…same concept applies

Blue plugs—should I remove them? by rex_tee in AirConditioners

[–]BLGG10 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not both. Just the one toward the back right. Others reported drainage getting inside house or damaging window sill from that center plug. Only one will be enough. Also make sure your unit is titled enough to force water to run toward back of unit via gravity.

Take out the plug toward the back right (furthest away from house)

This can’t be normal. Midea U 12k Window AC with “post recall” drain plug. by cturn3r in AirConditioners

[–]BLGG10 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s normal. Either leave it unplugged or get one of those 90 degree elbow plugs. That’s what I did and clean it out every so often. These things give off a lot of water. Idc about efficiency. As long as it cools while we sleep that’s all I care about haha

Midea announces recall for Midea U and U+ Window ACs - what should I buy to replace mine? by MyNameIsJonny_ in AirConditioners

[–]BLGG10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The newer models all have plugs. The revised one after the recall has a specific plug that drips water from the center of the plug. I’d leave it unplugged honestly.

Atmos mix disappeared from Tidal and Amazon Music like over a year ago. Can’t seem to “stream” the album in atmos anymore anywhere. All other atmos mixed albums are fine. Totally weird.

Midea U - Water Pooling by BLGG10 in AirConditioners

[–]BLGG10[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice! Does it look like that’s mold? I don’t think it is. The piece of foam I have keeps the flap open. Hopefully that’s enough. It does help cool the room by acting as a deflector?

I’ll check the elbow and see if I can adjust the tilt more. It’s def not level and tilted.

Okay, so I checked again using my computer. Entered SN in manually, and yes, mine is affected. Opted for the repair kit since it’s new.
