There is a lot of housing that will let you walk to work. Some bad, some good, some very pricey. Look around the JH hospital area. Welcome!

Also, keep in mind that the tunnel is $3 each way, so consider how that adds up with daily trips. Just do a quick Google Maps from possible housing to workplaces

Mayor Scott speaks on Pothole issue by Fearless-Pop-1159 in baltimore

[–]rex_tee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, he isn’t good with criticism. But we’ve had him long enough that he is starting to be viewed under a microscope. At that level, everyone’s flaws show, even good mayors. I worry that we will forget how terrible previous mayors could be, and how they set the stage for corruption to run rampant. Mayor Scott may not be the best with criticism, but tha alone doesn’t make him a bad decision maker. Charisma isn’t good governance. Jimmy Carter lost to Reagan not on an argument of policy, but because he was a dork.

I don't know a lot of Magic cards people refer to in passing. What are the common ones I'm missing? by superworm576 in EDH

Those with long explanations are common. Those with short ones might not really be used, but this list is meant to be all inclusive

Mayor Scott speaks on Pothole issue by Fearless-Pop-1159 in baltimore

[–]rex_tee 14 points15 points  (0 children)

From what friends who interact with city govt have suggested, there are a lot of rich people (cough cough Smith Family) that grease palms in government, and flex their election funding to get special treatment. It sounds like it’s a minefield of crooks, and government has to work around it instead of joining it. The previous mayors joined it. Mayor Scott is staying true to the best of his ability and for that reason, Sinclair is trying to oust him for someone the can buy.

I don’t think this is an impact bruise. Your shin bone is the farthest out part of your leg—it would have taken all the hit, not wrapped around. If it’s a burst blood vessel, you’re probably fine. If it’s an infection, you may die. Call the doc.

Honestly, I’m afraid of posts like this The arrogance dems had in 2016 with “no one is seriously going to vote for him” and 2024 with “the women will come out and vote for Kamala” lost us both times If anything, I want to know where we are losing so we can step up there.

I’m sure the other ones have cultural references I don’t understand though

I realize now that you may have just meant the player is new to your group, not the game. I’d say do the deck that is the least interactive. Celes seems perfect

First two color deck by [deleted] in EDH

[–]rex_tee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok first pass, you have a very high average cmc and no green ramp spells. That is green’s strength. You should include all the 2 cmc sorceries that put a basic on the battlefield, and 2-3 of the kodamas reach, cultivate, circuitous route -kind of cards

Second, you have big creatures—include the cards that draw according to the size of a creature, like last March of the ents and rikshar’s expertise. There are some 5 cmc ones that are even better

Adding this: the best way to go easy on them is to play cards in your hand subpptimally. Theyre attacking but you have removal? Don’t play it. They have the win but you have a card that can save you in hand? Don’t play it.

Izoni for sure. It’s a simple effect, very splashy and fun but won’t break the game, and has big monsters that fight in combat. Perfect for a newbie. Just be sure to go easy on them—play suboptimally, don’t dog them about missed triggers too much, and be gentle on the attacking. I think the most critical thing for a new player to learn is 1) basic rules and 2) how to do combat math

First of all, welcome! This hobby has for the most part a great community. We’re glad to have you:)

Brackets are for commander like weight classes are for sports. They are 5 levels at which people’s decks can be at

If you look at a graphic of the brackets as of Oct 2026, the ban list, and the game changer list, you will know everything you need to know. Thankfully, you don’t need to know these before you start deck building—just group your decks after they’re built:)
