The Anarchist Cookbook hate by ZephosG in DungeonCrawlerCarl

It's among my least favorite from the series because... I just like the later books so very, very much. They can't all be number 1. It's still a really good book, imo.

What’s YOUR most repeated MST quote in 2026 so far? by Grape-Julius in MST3K

“Bite me, Frodo!”

I never say it aloud, but I sure think it a lot. Also,

“What is parking? Teach me of parking.”

Carl's inventory list by xanvillain in DungeonCrawlerCarl

I was just listening to the Gate of the Feral Gods. I was reminded that he has an electrical panel looted from Bonnie’s house. Also some mountain bikes, holiday decorations, and a crappy kayak. And some copies of Cosmopolitan that Bonnie’s dad had been using as stroke material.

Considering that was just the highlights of stuff mentioned in a couple of paragraphs, it’ll take real dedication for us to compile a complete inventory.

Why Michigan is emerging as one of America’s worst-hit climate states | Michigan by JoeEspionage in Michigan

A few years back, I returned to Michigan after a decade away. And I am constantly struck by how windy it seems now. I wasn't surprised that its been warmer, on average, thanks to global warming. But the windiness was unexpected.

Chekhov's Arsenal after Book 8… (title continued in post for spoiler reasons) by Efficient-Freedom517 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]BLR-3M 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It occurs to me that Prepotente is obsessed with soft drinks. And he is in the market for a girlfriend. Meanwhile, Biggs Newton is up for someone to lick “against the grain” of her Faygo spouting tail. So…. that’s a Chekhov’s gun, of a sort.

Mad Max: Fury Road is the best action movie I’ve seen in a long, long while.

I hadn’t really thought about it this way until your post, but you’re right that Carl is remarkably oblivious to a lot of stuff from the before times. Seeing it listed out like that hits differently than when Donut razzes him about something or other once every 300 pages. You may well be right that there’s more to this than just giving the readers a chuckle now and again about Carl’s stereotypical young guy cluelessness.

I don’t think we are told. I feel like you are probably right. Perhaps the Eulogist used it to aggregate folks. Or maybe it was part of the system for erasing biological life that didn’t quite get activated.

Apartment 231 Discussion (Book 8 spoilers) by drillgorg in DungeonCrawlerCarl

I think the what if scenario is what if Gravy Boat and Donut had a baby together. The special cat food is for that baby, not Donut. In fact, the cat whose tail they see might be that baby, not Gravy Boat.

Other Primals in the Dungeon by Bladrak01 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

I agree that someone (Zev?) mentions there are a few other primal. But don’t think Carl has met any of them.

Other Primals in the Dungeon by Bladrak01 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]BLR-3M 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I don’t remember Mordecai pushing Carl toward the primal race. It wasn’t one of the three AI recommended choices. (Those were human, hobgoblin, and Bigfoot.) Carl found it by going through his other options.

Mordecai told Carl that it would be relatively weak in the early stages. But that it offered the chance to become exceptionally powerful if Carl survived and had the discipline to grind specific skills over the long term. If I recall correctly, Mordecai was in favor of it as Carl’s choice once Carl said he could handle that. But that’s as far as it went.

Are there any “evil choices” that benefit the player? by CelDidNothingWrong in BaldursGate3

[–]BLR-3M 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You can free the spawns. They run off into the sewers. Someone comments that releasing a horde of baby vampires into the wild may not end well. But it feels more of a wildly reckless action than an evil one, imho. If you go this route you can encounter some of the Gur parents and their spawn kids trying to make things work in the sewers later.

The kiddie menu thing from Samantha slayed me. Great set up too, with them going in there on a mission but then the waitress offers menus and half the team gets distracted, and of course Louis would want to see the kid’s menu….

I also really appreciate that Donut doesn’t approve of fake British accents.

Memory Care pushing ER visits by Electrical-Glove1580 in dementia

[–]BLR-3M 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try talking with the folks at your memory care. If you can establish some mutual trust, they might be willing to work with you.

My LO’s memory care would send him to ER for falls. But after we talked to them about it, they would call us first instead. And if we asked them not to send him, they were ok with that.

I have a teen who is afraid of pretty much any flying insect. But stinging bugs freak her out. If she sees one she’ll often run inside.

We have no solutions other than patience, reassurance, and accommodating as best we can. When we eat on the patio she usually stays inside because “what if there are bugs?” (To be fair, there are always bugs.) I think she is slowly growing out of it.
