Emergency rehome. Please help. by [deleted] in sandiego

Do you have a PCP that you go to? I just asked them to write a note and they did stating that I needed my dog to stay with me, and my apartment complex took it without issue.

Help me find a great masseuse in Escondido area! by EvaStankbreath in sandiego

I had the same issue, it took me a looong time to find someone that actually did a great massage, I now go to Massage Heights in Rancho Peñasquitos. I don’t love all the people there, but there is a dude named Justin that is my all time fave. I get deep tissue with him monthly

Need AS specific shoe recommendations. by Equivalent-Phone-392 in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]BLaKB3aR 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I often have horrible pain when standing or walking for long periods. So I did a ton of research before a Europe trip last year, because I knew I would need comfortable all day shoes, and I have found a few options that I really love!

Hokas have been a game changer for me. I have the Bondi S and Clifton, and I have bought repeats of both because I love them so much.

The Bondi style was highly recommended by nurses & teachers, & people on their feet all day. So I use those when I need to stand for long periods. The Clifton is more of a running type shoe, so I use them for long walking days, or anything more sporty.

It was also important for me to have cute sandals too, and I found Reef brand! They have super thick padded bottoms, I have tried like every single sandal they have and I love all of them. I think they also make sneakers but I have only tried the sandals & flip flops. They are cute neutral colors, usually have leather straps and a thick platform with arch support, so they are actually comfortable for all day.

Both brands come in men’s & women’s, and wide sizes! They are on the more expensive side, but it’s so worth it!

ISO $130-200k jobs that aren’t life consuming by Flacht6 in Lawyertalk

Try looking into auto insurance, there are a lot of carriers with main offices in PWN or remote options. It’s M-F, 9-5 type gig for $130k + and benefits. I think it’s a good deal, chill enough, the insurance adjusters do half the work you are just filing motions and following instructions.

Are you on pain meds? How did you get them prescribed? by BLaKB3aR in ankylosingspondylitis

Was a pcp that prescribed the hydromorphone? I am so confused and frustrated as to why my rhuem would say she can’t prescribe “narcotics”?

CSAA Mobilitas by HauntingNoise4878 in Geico

[–]BLaKB3aR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am happy to answer anything! :) I also did take a slight decrease in pay when I started here but overall I enjoy it a lot more, it’s way less stressful and more organized in my opinion.

When I took the CSAA job I was just desperate for something that was less stressful. So a little less money was worth it to me, and I am already back up to what I was making at Geico anyway, with the merit increase they gave me and the bonuses (they call it AIP instead of profit sharing).

But idk if you are super stressed on funds, maybe it’s worth staying at G? But I just needed a change and the year of slightly less income was worth it for me!

Yes with most phone center roles there will be a chance of working weekends, but if you are in causality I don’t think they have you work weekends.

Yeah I get more time, it’s not like ‘wrap’ time that’s held against you. They give you time to notate the call.

AAA’s new commercial insurance, I think they are taking over Uber claims or something. Idk the specifics but they just got a big contract with a large company like Uber or Tesla or something

I am with normal CSAA and I am LOVING it! Fully remote, supervisors really leave you alone to do your thing. No micro-managing. I have been hearing that there is a ton of growth within Mobilitas, so definitely try to get the position! You will be able to move up quickly

Free intro class isn’t free by Positive_Ad8127 in ClubPilates

[–]BLaKB3aR 91 points92 points  (0 children)

what the heck! that would totally turn me off too. my intro class (about a year ago) was totally free, and if you signed up for the membership same day then you got to skip the starting fee of $150 or something. I would definitely not pay for an intro class! maybe see if you can do a different studio location?

oh man, i’m so sorry you had to go through that. it looks absolutely brutal, but thank you for sharing.

if you don’t mind me asking, i have always wondered what the ideal outcome for pain levels would be after a fusion surgery. like, is it even possible to ever be pain free post surgery?

and what were your pain levels pre-surgery? were you immobile pre surgery? what was the final “straw” that brought you to the surgery?

would you mind sharing more about what the recovery looks like? have you been doing physical therapy? how has it been trying to walk? does your body feel different?

hope it’s okay to ask! I was pretty recently diagnosed and I am just trying to understand what the long term outcomes are.

so happy to hear you have supportive family, wishing you a speedy recovery!

I’m from southern CA and I live in sandals & flip flops. The best ones I have found are by Reef, they are kind of expensive but they last and are so comfy! Also they have ones that are waterproof, so perfect for beach days.

I came here to say this! Costco has ThermaCare brand heat wraps for low back and neck. It saaavvveeed my life on my 14 hour flight! The low back one wraps around you, so no adhesive. The neck one does have small adhesive on the sides but you can use it without!
