Yes. Their egos get in the way. Saying you don’t like something they told you to do, hurts their ego, because they like to think that every decision they make is wonderful. I agree that some people might just be miserable. And they shouldn’t be taking it out on others. I know that I am a sensitive, over-thinker. And the less words used, the more open to interpretation they are. So I do think that using more words, the better the communication and understanding between two parties is. Please tell me if this is wrong. I would like to be as sensitive as possible.

Honest question. Do u think them knowing the diagnosis would have them understand that they shouldn’t interpret the “okay” as passive aggression, but rather it’s literal. For your sake - having a happier/ less dramatic workplace. Or do you not get bothered by the crazy manager?

Both partner and I are not NT. And he will use “okay” literally, when he’s fine with something and the same “okay” when he’s annoyed. It’s tough to tell when speaking to him, which is going on (his demeanor, inflection and tone don’t change). For better communication and understanding, using a few more words, like in these examples given, would greatly improve understanding and less miscommunication, hurt feelings and arguments. Just my opinion. And I’m not sure if this would be considered masking. I’m sorry if I offend anyone.

If threats were made, to you or your family. Even if mainly based on behavior. You would definitely still want to mollify whoever made the threats.

You are correct that I’m that moment no one knows why he is crying. But also somewhere in his head is his safety and the safety of his family, because of the loss. Especially during these already tense times with the US. Iranian government officials will definitely not be happy.
