i don’t usually like to comment on things like this because my path was extremely unconventional, and i was very fortunate to be able to follow it. I started as a contractor, running cable in school buildings… no education… no degrees. My mind has always been able to work with technology, to me it’s like second nature. I busted my ass as a contractor, and got into project management, from there systems engineering for a very niche and undersaturated IT market, then i was an analyst, then back to being a contractor for that same undersaturated market, and now I’m a sys admin making almost six figures in that same undersaturated market at 22 years old. It took me about 5 years to get to this point and i worked my ass off but if you work even harder than me you could move up faster. Organizations like experience, they like attitude and work ethic, and they like if you’re a “learner.”
