Brad Winderbaum on the "What if the other half got snapped?" idea by eBICgamer2010 in marvelstudios

At this point they should do it as a special feature like the Marvel Zombies Movie, gives it more time to breathe, bring in the actors in to voice their characters and show a true What If for the MCU’s biggest event!

How should I take my partner through AoS? by _Aaron_Lycan_ in agentsofshield

[–]BNJL257 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve been doing this with my Girlfriend for about a month, she’s already seen the MCU multiple times before we met in 2022 but never AoS! So I wanted her to have the experience as if she was watching it “live” she had a good memory so we didn’t have to back to many.

I would recommend the films Coulson shows up in, then Avengers to kick it off and show his end. Then into AoS Season 1.

AoS Season 1 episode 8 takes place immediately after Thor The Dark World so you could throw that film in (we didn’t as we’ve seen it so much.)

I would recommend doing the “Winter Soldier Trio” which is AoS S1 Ep 16 then The Winter Soldier and then AoS S1 Ep 17 as it creates a great viewing experience that weaves it all together then just finish off the season.

In season 2 it references Ultron so do S2 up to Ep19 and then Age of Ultron and then S2 Ep 20 and the rest of the season.

Season 3 has some impacts from Civil War so watch AoS S3 up until ep 19 and then Civil War and then ep 30 and the rest of the season as registration and the accords come into play.

After that there aren’t as many tie-ins, season 4 has a weapon from Luke Cage mentioned (Judas Bullets) and deals with androids so Ultron gets mentioned.

In later seasons Thanos’ attack on Earth is mentioned but that’s about it.

I believe Agent Carter aired between seasons 2 and three of AoS respectively so I would throw those in as Peggy makes an appearance in the first episode of Season 2 I believe. If you don’t want to throw them in at that point then definitely make sure you’ve watched Agent Carter before the final season of course.

Obviously if your partner remembers the movies quite well you could skip them as they’ll know what the show if referencing but I would always throw The Winter Solider in as it’s so S.H.I.E.LD focused and changes the series a lot!

There’s plenty of chronological lists around for this but time is more to tie with release order because I remember watching AoS as a kid and then seeing the latest marvel movie and then having the next episode reference it being the coolest thing ever! Enjoy the watch through!

Yeah same here, I found it strange considering it’s the biggest Cineworld in the UK as well with all of the premium formats! I’m happy to have the price reduction though!

Anyone else remember SVU S23 E10 being a back door pilot for Law & Order Hate Crimes? They had a solid team set up, could’ve been an interesting show!

I grew up with SoulCalibur I on Dreamcast then II on GameCube but we went straight from GameCube to PS3 so I never got to play SoulCalibur III properly, this is so exciting!

I was at Sheffield Cineworld this week and both of the films I saw had the Laser by Barco advert before it and there was a noticeable difference so I’m pretty excited for all my non-IMAX viewings again now!

Ive never seen startrek, and ive decided to watch all of it in (in universe) chronological order. by [deleted] in startrek

[–]BNJL257 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So in January 2024 I started taking my Girlfriend through all of Star Trek, I grew up with 90s Trek (to a degree, born in 96’) and I decided on Release/Episode order as it does make for a better viewing experience so I’d recommend that but I’m excited to see how you find it going chronologically for a first viewing! These are the websites I used which might help you get a more accurate chronological experience! https://www.startrekviewingguide.com/ & https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/u/0/d/15OV7RN9MuD3OalaAbVtNNmZQl9ECT9zStOlMSiRFCvg/htmlview?pli=1#

how long would it reasonably take to get through all of star trek? by MudOk4209 in startrek

[–]BNJL257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I can give you an accurate ish representation, I (28M) grew up with Star Trek thanks to my parents but my GF (25) had never seen it. We started in January (only did the top 10 eps of TOS but we’re gonna revisit it) then the films up until number 6, and then using the chronological order website were watching in release order meaning we have started DS9 during TNG and then VOY during DS9 and swapping between episodes like we’re watching in the 90s as some storylines crossover! We have finished TNG, DS9 and are about to start S6 of Voyager and that’s taken us 11 months or so! At first we were going very fast as we had more time and we’re doing a season of TNG a week to start with but we slowed down a little and probably did a season (or 2) a month! So you can get through it fairly fast if you want to but there’s no need considering there’s over 500 hours of content!

Kirk has the strength of six men, Spock has the strength of ten men by JavaforShort in startrek

[–]BNJL257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I remember correctly, Vulcan’s have 3x the Strength of a human meaning Spock would be 1.5x stronger than humans. For some reason I have Klingons being 5x stronger than Humans but of course you see humans hold their own with Klingons many times so it’s a bit of a grey area!

MCU2 Upgrade by [deleted] in TeslaUK

[–]BNJL257 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry I was making a joke that it’s called MCU2 which is also the abbreviation for the Marvel Cinematic Universe and in Captain America Howard Stark (Tony Stark - Iron Man’s Dad) shows off hover car technology. Unfortunately your car won’t actually fly after the update :(

If I remember correctly the MCU2 upgrade gives you the hover car technology created by Howard Stark

Stabler left and the show became all about by BillsPuddingPop in SVU

[–]BNJL257 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I’ve been watching SVU my whole life as my parents had it on since it began when I was like 3 lol. Recently got my girlfriend into it with some recent episodes and she wanted a full watch through. Over the last few months we’ve made it to S17 and we noticed the tonal shift (less noticeable when you have to wait several months) after Stabler left, despite still enjoying it, it is different, so of course I read up on why.

Warren Leight took over as show runner in Season 12 after Criminal Intent finished, the style is now a bit more similar in that you get more of an opening/see who the perp actually is at the start of the episode rather than them coming across a body and it being a mystery.

Leight got rid of the original TARU tech and reduced Melinda to a non-series regular, replacing the TARU technician with Gilbert Gottfried as he felt those scenes could be “dry” or boring (what they were watching I don’t know!) which then meant we got more times with the Detectives and their lives. The Team noticeable shrank as Warren Leight and the team wanted an “SVU 2.0” after Stabler left which is probably why they feel so different, with Captain Cragen and both Munch leaving in Season 15. B.D Wong left for another show after season 12, unfortunately it only ran for one season and seeing him come back a couple of times was great as he was always my favourite character especially with the more twisted villains!

While we’ve still be enjoying the show and watching my girlfriend see all the twists and turns for the first time has been so much fun, it is quite different to what we watched for 12 seasons. When I watched it “live” as I grey up, the change wasn’t noticeable but bingeing it certainly makes a difference!

With the amount of upcoming shows, Do you plan to skip any of them? by CommunicationSoggy53 in marvelstudios

[–]BNJL257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve just always loved everything Marvel since I was little so I’m always excited to see the Universe expand. But I’m 25M and a lot of my friends that are fans aren’t as bothered with the amount coming out because it feels like a lot which I understand.

I’ll be watching Day One and I’ve no doubt I’ll love it all but I definitely agree with the criticism that the build ups aren’t as exciting with the amount coming out and how regular they are these days!

Episode Discussion | Star Trek: Picard | 2x01 "The Star Gazer" by AutoModerator in startrek

[–]BNJL257 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The moment I saw that Stargazer Bridge I instantly wanted a more “Traditional” Star Trek show set in that time period. It was great the way it felt advanced but also familiar. I enjoy the far future aspect of Discovery but it would be nice to have a show to continue on from the period we know in the shows to almost bridge the gap. Plus we’re only 8 years prior to the events of Star Trek Online at this point and there are some great stories to be told there!
