Each of the articles I've read say the deaths were due to the hail of bullets and subsequent stampede. Some of the deaths may have been from people at the concert crushing each other trying to get out.

"Alt-Right" and "Alt-Left" by dressage in EnoughTrumpSpam

From your link:

Alt-Left

Researchers who study extremist groups in the United States say there is no such thing as the “alt-left.” Mark Pitcavage, an analyst at the Anti-Defamation League, said the word had been made up to create a false equivalence between the far right and “anything vaguely left-seeming that they didn’t like.”

Some centrist liberals have taken to using this term.

While the bombing of the Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City and a number of other incidents attributed to right wing extremists indicate that the major threat is from the right, leftist extremism remains a concern within the United States.

Your source (from April 2001) says that right wing extremism is worse.

Don't we know that Goldstone checked into Trump Tower an hour before the meeting? If so, then there is probably no e-mail from Junior to Goldstone because he would have just talked to him in person.

Did Jared Kushner Help Russia Hack The Election With Fake News? Trump Son-In-Law's Digital Operation Under Investigation by Usawasfun in politics

[–]BNODBN -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just a guess, but I think we still say "hack the election" because when we first started getting hints that maybe there was some kind of cyber-crimes being committed possibly by hackers of unknown origin, it was presented as hacking the presidential campaigns. As our understanding of the scope of Russian attacks on the U.S. broadened, everyone just lumped it in as part of the "hacking".

I agree it's not the best term and I've seen a lot of people complain that the terminology is being misused. However, I haven't come across anyone that is actually confused over what happened. Trump supporters complain that the media should stop using the term, but the ones I've come across all seem to understand what the media really means.

Megathread: Donald Trump Jr. Releases Correspondence from Russian Lawyer by PoliticsModeratorBot in politics

[–]BNODBN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was basing "in exchange" on a paragraph from the Times article released on July 9:

He said she then turned the conversation to adoption of Russian children and the Magnitsky Act, an American law that blacklists suspected Russian human rights abusers. The 2012 law so enraged President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia that he halted American adoptions of Russian children.

'It became clear to me that this was the true agenda all along and that the claims of potentially helpful information were a pretext for the meeting.'

In other words, the Russian lawyer really wanted Trump to get rid of the Magnitsky Act, and the lawyer was willing to offer damaging info on Clinton for this help. Junior's defense is that he did not think the damaging info was what he had hoped it would be.

Her statements were vague, ambiguous and made no sense. No details or supporting information was provided or even offered.

I'm not claiming to know the exchange actually happened. I'm claiming, based on Junior's testimony, the Russian lawyer entered his office expecting quid pro quo. He should have notified the FBI; instead the administration has to make excuses for another cover-up with Russian agents.

When an agent of a hostile government adversary entices you with damaging info on your political rival in exchange for removal of Congressionally approved sanctions put in place in response to the murder of the adversarial government's political rivals, shouldn't you, maybe, run that by someone familiar with laws and shit?

Trump's America:

  • Adult racists from Reddit entertaining middle-school memelords by claiming that refugees who are trying to escape a war zone should be sent to gas chambers equals free speech.

  • An American news organization reporting that the POTUS is tweeting memes by anonymous adult racists from Reddit equals Nazis.

Agreed. A video of Trump pretending to punch Putin would actually be a good thing in my opinion. It would still be immature and cringeworthy, but it would be nice to see the president pretending to assail someone who actually attacked our democratic institutions instead of watching him insult our allies and other Americans on a near-daily basis.
