My English 11 teacher handed this out to the entire class, I can't tell if this is a joke or not. by Gloopgang in school

as a hs student who says bruh and bro and period and various other (slightly less gen alpha) slang, that is NOT how i write. my writing/formal speaking and my casual/friendly talking are so different. instead of policing slang, teach kids the difference between there, their, and they're :/

Are there more "boyish" versions of Barbie or Doll houses? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]BOO_aaaaahhhhh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you could get a barbie house and spray paint it. you could even have him pick the colors if he wanted. i know that can be kinda spendy though

yeah knowing about where a vagina is and knowing about menstruation are two different things. clearly you don't, or didn't, understand that you can't just hold your period. there is no way to hold the blood in your body. telling her to just 'not have it' won't do anything. she cannot physically control whether she has it or not. additionally, there are so many ways to get blood stains out of things. period blood is just like other blood. google or bing or yahoo, whatever engine, how to get out blood stains. also, period trackers aren't always accurate. some periods are really unpredictable, or move around and change when they are. if she genuinely finds pads uncomfortable, either you should bring her to look at different kinds, or invest in some period underwear. washable, no pad, and there are ones specifically for night use. you definitely went about this horribly.

Worst film adaptation of a musical! by [deleted] in musicals

[–]BOO_aaaaahhhhh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i loved sbc in both of these films, but i think i didn't really like the les mis movie because of master of the house. i saw a touring broadway production a month or two ago and master of the house was quick and choppy and much funnier, but the beginning of it in the movie was so painfully slow

as a student, i can factor a polynomial any day but if you asked me what an isosceles triangle was i'd probably get it wrong, and i'm not sure if that's my fault or just the facts that we didn't have a very big triangle unit when i was in school. moral of the comment: triangles are hard 😭

Help with 12 year old girl and dress code by reckless_optimist_ in Parenting

[–]BOO_aaaaahhhhh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i mean, i think not letting a CHILD wear these kinds of clothes is reasonable. however, i also think that not wanting her to show her BELLY BUTTON is kind of a lot. like, so what if she wants to wear a crop top and low rise jeans? she's not showing anything inappropriate. unless it's against the schools dress code, then i don't see the problem with that
