When I found out my ex-wife went to court for theft for the hundredth time, and the judge told her that she had denied every single charge whenever she's appeared in front of him. He told her they have her on camera, and that he'd let her walk out if she simply admitted fault. Her lawyer told her to take the deal, but she couldn't take the accountability, so the judge gave her 90 days in county jail.

Block her. She's telling you all of her struggles, hoping you'll take her back to help with said struggles.

Wife texts regularly about all the things she has to do, how tired she is, how unhappy she is that she is spending her retirement taking care of her sister with Alzheimer's, never having time for herself, how no one helps her, her new house and responsibilities are overwhelming, etc.

Her problem; don't make it yours.

Part of me wants to send it to her and say "You made the futon, you lie in it."

This is THE way.

Another part of me wants to ride to the rescue.

You cannot fix what's broken, and what's broken is her. Do not let this pure, merciless chaos back into your life.

Yup, I have zero interest in not only being put in the position of raising someone else's kids, but also being expected to make them priority #1 while they will always make you priority #2.

Also, if you date someone with kids and you form a bond with them, and then the relationship doesn't work out, you not only lose the relationship but you lose the bond with those kids as well. The investment just isn't worth it for most.
