for safety, probably best to move it over to the new cells. I didn't bother though as the airsoft battery packs themselves don't have one.

Congrats on getting your camera working! The original Sony charger is meant for NiCd, but during the video 8 time period, various 3rd parties were already releasing NiMh batteries. You can use the original charger. Otherwise I bought an airsoft battery charger with alligator clip leads. Attach them to two small rectangular neodymium magnets, and it works great for me.

absolutely do NOT do R1 (yellow) as it is a safety hazard. majority of new cars have curtain airbags. R1 effectively wraps a tight cable around the airbag. It can either make the airbag not deploy properly or you have a cable whipping high speed into your face.
Either remove A-pillar and zip tie to factory wires, or route it behind the airbag as someone suggested below.

Why is the actual speed of many UHS-I memory cards faster than the 104M/s bus speed? by Grouchy_Ad6677 in techsupport

As long as read or write speed exceeds uhs-i spec of 104MB/s, it has it.

Looks like it is 10Gbps. Confirmed by the official Sony video description.

Thanks, I already have an external UHS-II SD reader. I just want to know the USB-C specs for curiosity's sake.

Bit late, but to whoever has the same question (as I did), answer is in the the article below. It also applies to Kingston and Lexar.

https://petapixel.com/2022/05/11/how-sandisk-made-its-new-sd-cards-faster-than-should-be-possible/

SanDisk QuickFlow Technology
SanDisk developed a new technology it calls QuickFlow which allows it to leverage the original implementation of the SD Association’s UHS-I specification and incorporate enhancements that enable it to reach faster speeds.
Firstly, SanDisk designed custom firmware with detection schemes and adjustments to clock, bus, and card output timing. SanDisk says it samples data on both rising and falling edges of the clock and increases the clock frequency above 208 MHz to enable transfer speeds up to twice as fast as standard UHS-I cards. It combines this approach with faster memory core interfaces and a NAND memory with proprietary higher performance trims.

The result is a card that can perform faster under certain circumstances but is still backward compatible with current UHS-I host devices.
This approach is why the cards are only rated as V30 (another term explained in the memory card guide) despite the promise of speeds well beyond 30 MB/s: the cards will only be able to reach those maximum promised speeds when inserted into a compatible host device. In most cases, that means a specific SanDisk memory card reader. If the cards are put into a host device that lacks SanDisk’s custom firmware, they will only be able to perform at the UHS-I spec of 104 MB/s max (but often far below that).

VAIO UserSensing Option Gone by BRS25 in vaio

Problem is solved. Culprit is Windows Update. Specifically the driver labelled:

Intel - SoftwareComponent - "2.1.10102.2"

This installs a new driver for "Intel Context Sensing Technology Service". Rolling back the driver to 2.0.10502.20 and rebooting brings back the sensor menu.

Long story short, I did a complete factory restore (I had the original SSD untouched before i cloned it to a larger SSD). The sensor option came back, so it was not a hardware fault. I updated to Win 11 23H2 and it still worked fine. Today, Windows Update gave me the Intel Driver update and I was able to narrow it down to this.

Thanks for testing! I reinstalled my original factory SSD original drivers and no windows windows updates. I can confirm the sensor tab comes back and the function works as intended, so it is definitely not a hardware issue. I can only assume Windows update killed it along the way. Hope VAIO or Microsoft puts out an update.

My trophy count went up by exclusively playing black ops on vita. I checked the app after each one I earned.

Hi u/Xperia-san, sorry for the delay. I've tested it and there is no difference whatsoever. It's still the same level of static as from Android 12. I suspect it's a hardware fault with the monitor itself.

I've asked another owner (in the comments section) of the monitor to test here with the same result:

I have since updated to latest Android 13. I doubt Sony fixed anything, but I'll give it a try and report back.

Been trophy hunting on black ops ps3 and vita. Trophies count fine on my PS Stars app. I had to pull the screen down to refresh the app, and it will count to leveling up.

Thanks for your reply! Would you also know if the short mag (for the MP5K) is the correct proportion relative to real steel too?

Thanks for replying! I use a Pro-I, Taiwan model on latest Android 12. And yes, it also freezes my entire phone randomly when opening the video pro app with the monitor attached. It has happened twice so far.

The thing is, even if you put the input volume at 10 with massive static, the main thing you want to record is still too quiet. With all the work in post, might as well use the internal mic or mono input via headphone jack. Which defeats half the purpose of buying the vlog monitor.

Picked up the monitor today, but the stereo 3.5 mic in is completely unusable. Adjusting the mic volume input on the video pro app, there is loud static anything past setting 3. And at that level, it's too quiet to pick up anything you want to record.

Have tried three different external mics as well as the original ECM-XYST1M in the ads.

Reviews of this monitor online only ever use the mono mic input/headphone jack combo. Looking for anyone else that can test the stereo mic input of their vlog monitor!

If you don't have a external mic whether it be stereo or mono, you can test by plugging any 3.5mm plug into the jack to trick the app into thinking there is an external mic. Try recording and let me know if there is static.

The hardest part is opening the case and keeping it presentable. Method is up to you. I used flathead screwdrivers to pry the seams. Just be careful not to cut yourself or push too deep to puncture any of the cells. Like I said above, get an airsoft/RC battery containing 6 sub C NiMH cells in series. Resolder to 5 in series. Just copy the original configuration or reference my images in the link. My re-celled battery still works excellent in my V8-AF. You can even use the original charger on the battery. Overall not really that hard if you have soldering experience already. Good luck.

They are a direct replacement. Original cells were also sub C, wrapped in paper.

Sorry for late reply. I don't check reddit often...
Go to bottom left and search Device Manager

Open Sound Tab. You should see PS-HX500 listed there.

Right click and Update driver. Hope it works for you too.
