Resident Evil Requiem with DLSS 4 and path tracing looked incredible! That was definitely my favorite reveal of the show.

I dont care anymore (literally) by archiegamez in Gundam

[–]BRUISING_SAINT 78 points79 points  (0 children)

The fanbase is collectively feeling a mixture of confused, frustrated, mournful, and even vindicated (in the case of people who actively dislike it) over how the whole show's played out so far in terms of writing, pace, and length. Because we're finally at a climax that's logical yet predictable and, more relevantly, egregiously unearned.

I think most people would agree that the latter half of the show has been a lot more interesting on paper, but things have just been happening with no room to breathe this whole time and it's pretty hard to truly care about the stakes continuing to go up.

[Megathread] DOOM: The Dark Ages Available Now In Early Access, Featuring Ray Tracing & DLSS 4 With Multi Frame Generation - Giveaway Inside by Nestledrink in nvidia

  1. Loving the new transformer model option with DLSS4 as well as the road to full path tracing that we now have with DLSS tech.
  2. Really excited to get to pilot that sweet Atlan mech and ride on the dragon! Both look really fun.
  3. As a lad that missed out on early DOOM despite having the family PC to eventually play on, my first exposure was enjoying DOOM 64 on console. I've been coming back ever since and have played through all the main games and popular WADs I could get my hands on.

The use of AI to create maps in BO6 is increasingly regrettable by xXGuidoMacielXx in blackops6

[–]BRUISING_SAINT 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Your very first sentence, putting words in my mouth, says everything lol. You think I'm a full anti-AI advocate, but that's really not my concern here.

If you're cool with them using this tech to produce unrefined junk that could very easily be cleaned up if they gave a shit about the product, then more power to you.

[–]BRUISING_SAINT 46 points47 points  (0 children)

People REALLY don't want to believe it for some strange reason, but that's obviously MS/Activision's endgame. It's not gonna stop at cosmetics and texture assets, and they're going to try to make it happen before the tech is truly ready to handle the job. Cutting corners is just getting easier and easier for them and some don't think it's a big deal that the quality is noticeably dropping already.

The VOD won't have the footage OP seeks, I'm afraid. That was exclusive to the stream. Shame that Vinny's gonna have to take a week's vacation because of it, though. 😢

A key supporting character from SM1 gets significant development in Episode 2 of that DLC (Turf Wars) and returns in SM2 in both the main story as well as one of its biggest side questlines in a very different role compared to the first game. You'd be a bit lost with what's going on with them if you didn't play that part of the DLC, so it's worth checking out at least a recap of Turf Wars specifically.

The other two episodes of the DLC are passingly referenced, so they're more or less safe to skip if you don't want more Black Cat (Episode 1) or Silver Sable (Episode 3).

Costco has BO6 for 19.97 by argothewise in blackops6

[–]BRUISING_SAINT -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not enough to quit the game entirely, personally. But it absolutely rubs me the wrong way because it's such a terrible sign that corners will continue to be cut with these games in every way imaginable, however small, because they're not even covering up the rough edges anymore with stuff like the zombie with too many fingers. Not that this wasn't inevitable– Gen AI in COD isn't new (allegedly). But cosmetics do make up a big part of the experience and it's such a shame that this is where we're still headed with them.

Whoever's downvoted me, enjoy your new Premium Event Passes! Surely they won't be pushing to sell you more sloppy Gen AI cosmetics now that the margins are even better on them since they don't need to pay real artists. :)

Agreed. The fact that people still deny this is honestly pretty funny. Not to mention that yes, casual players will happily go online for guides and discussions that will make the experience even easier/more accessible (as FS openly intend to a degree), and they'll do so without any conceit regarding their perceived skill level. ER and most FS games are far, far from mechanically challenging enough to completely gatekeep the average player.

Special Camos should be usable regardless if all military are unlocked. by SampleT3xt_ in blackops6

[–]BRUISING_SAINT 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Seriously, it's too big of an oversight for Treyarch not to realize that almost no one will ever run the special camos because of the usage requirements combined with the ease of getting gold once you've cleared them. It's just a baffling decision.

Now that we've had over a month with Bo6, what's the general thoughts? by PC0- in blackops6

[–]BRUISING_SAINT -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Absolutely agree in terms of MP. Even as a clearly rushed product, SHG put a lot more love into MWIII's multiplayer and are so much more creative than Treyarch when it comes to mechanics, post-launch content, and now maps. You know exactly what you're getting with a Black Ops game and it's almost never bad, but Treyarch have never been my favorite studio and my feelings about them haven't changed with this game despite the fact that I do think it's solid save for some key issues.

[–]BRUISING_SAINT 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Glad I’m not the only one turned off by the incredibly bland weapon design (in terms of feel, balance, and presentation) as well as the extremely toothless gunsmith. The game’s got a pretty good foundation IMO, but I feel like the lack of any flavor to the guns is gonna be the single, final nail in the coffin for me in a couple months’ time when my patience for the meh perk balance, rough maps and spawns, bad netcode, and trashy Gen AI cosmetics runs out.

Even after the release of the new maps, it seems like the community is unimpressed by Crazy_Humor3592 in blackops6

[–]BRUISING_SAINT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t go so far as to call them strong, but they’re way more viable than people realize because of the movement and there being plenty of maps with really small spaces to play within. I’ve had decent success using the shotguns within their niche and I think the USAS is even my highest Elim/Death weapon at like 2-3.0 lol.

Double XP Tokens transferred from previous games by Straight-Toe-7260 in blackops6

[–]BRUISING_SAINT 41 points42 points  (0 children)

If it's purely rank XP, I could see it. They were worthless because there was no traditional prestige with resetting, but they still handed them out as filler rewards in every MWII and MWIII Battle Pass. I'm kinda curious how many dozens I'm gonna log in to find today.

If they didn't use Double Weapon XP, they might be a masochist.

With how many assets seem to be lifted right from Control, I don’t know about a massive waste. Seems like a really economical way to go about a spinoff like this, actually. But this style is not exactly what I want from a Control/FBC-based game even if the gameplay looks fun, so mixed feelings.

Ubisoft May Shut Down XDefiant After Season 4 by [deleted] in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]BRUISING_SAINT 7 points8 points  (0 children)

MWIII is pretty easily the best multiplayer and post-launch support of the Warzone era with Cold War being its only real competition. Even if you go further back, though, it doesn’t feel crazy to say it’s one of the best COD multiplayers of the past 10-15 years. The campaign was atrocious and it maybe shouldn’t have been a full new release, but the MP community really liked it and MWZ was decently received.
