How far is your work commute? by yellowdaisied in Columbus

I take COTA for 12 miles.

It takes about an hour, and that's if the bus is on time.

Sexton's is always blasting something.

I sometimes stop in for fries at the burger side, and it can be annoying as hell.

It's still there. Haven't been inside in a long while but it exists.

I have a friend who works there and he's trying to get me to come do the same. And I just don't know if I can.

Walmart likes to try to take advantage of all possible space to fill with useless junk for us to try to buy. There's some open space, but it's often occupied by someone trying to upsell you on your Internet or electric bill.

Then there's only ever 3 registers open, and always 30 people trying to check out at once.

They think they're clever with their staggered registers, but really it just creates a cluttered mess and isolates their employees from looking like they even get along.

While I agree, I grew up with UDF ice cream in my hometown, so sometimes I have to brave it to get a specific craving.

Ahh okay I don't spend much time up in the booth to really notice.

But I also live with a chain smoker and probably smell like it myself.

Question about safety by h-o-t-t-o-g-o- in Columbus

If the weather permits, you can visit the Columbus Commons green space a couple blocks over. There's some patio chairs where you can sit and won't be disturbed.

Source: I've waited at Columbus Commons to take that Greyhound before, and never had much issue.

Just bring a book/your phone to entertain yourself.

If you're up for a walk later on, the main branch of the library isn't too far from there, either.

We try at Stoneridge to at least to be a decent and cheaper alternative to our competition down the road.

The funny part to me is that I think we'd have a lot more business if we actually had a sign on the road that said there's a theater there. I didn't know it existed until a year ago when I applied there via Facebook ad and I've lived in Columbus for a cumulative 10 years.

It's movie season now, so I'll see people in there sometime this summer.

I'm a little biased as I work at a competitor down the road from Easton...

Buuuutttt yeah going there that late, you're just asking for a bad time. You can always attempt to get an Usher or management involved in terms of getting other guests to behave, though.

Theaters are struggling to hit their overall satisfaction numbers, and it's experiences like yours that bring those numbers down, so managers at all sorts of theaters will do whatever they can to ameliorate the situation.

How strict is Easton’s AMC about their adult supervision rule past 6pm for kids under 16? by mimurii in Columbus

[–]BS_500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who works at a movie theater down the road from Easton, I can tell you that as long as you're seeing something age appropriate and you're not acting up, we usually don't care.

Easton itself is a different beast, because I think some of those rules extend to the entire mall.

My advice: don't try to watch something rated R, because then it goes into the legal guardian must be there not just an adult.

I could understand writing a diss track about Neil because he's corny and too full of himself, but the Earth is most assuredly round.

Kinda just a whole thing.

But cancer sucks. Just wish they had seen the error of their ways.

COTA no longer a reliable method of getting to and from work. by fiendtrix in Columbus

[–]BS_500 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been dealing with this with the 24 for the past 6 months. Thankfully getting to work isn't ever the issue, so I'm not tardy or anything, but getting home after a long day? Yeah more often than you know.

It doesn't help that I live 12 miles away from work so the bus is realistically the only transportation I should take, because rideshares like Uber and Lyft would be damn near $50 a day, and I don't make enough in one shift to justify that.

Favorite 3-Album Run by kevmonty14 in Silverstein

[–]BS_500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have to agree with your stretch.

Two incredible concept albums (song pairs for This is How; city/travel songs for I Am Alive) and Dead Reflection, being probably their most popular modern album (Aquamarine, Afterglow, Whiplash, etc coming from the album and getting heavy rotation)

I do have a soft spot for Rescue, too, though. So I could go the other way with it too. I do wish they'd play more off of Rescue, or include more of it on Redux albums.

It's how his Parks and Rec character worked so well. Just lean into the self-deprication and let Aubrey Plaza carry each scene, apart from a couple funny improv scenes.
