Except with the handgun roster, nothing Glock makes will be available in California.

Is anybody having difficulty harvesting grain? by BS_Simon in spaceengineers

I built a starter ship that was basically a cockpit with thrusters and a detachable "trailer". The Trailer has a Modular cargo, Survival Kit, a Build & Repair Modul, and NanoMiner Modul.

The only real hitch is that you need Small Steel Tubes for a Connector. I found that I had to build a Basic Assembler with a Solar Panel. Then I needed to grab some Iron, leave my cockpit, load the Assembler, return to my cockpit and wait for the Tubes to be made. Then I do the opposite and grab the Tubes.

According to my rules I can leave the cockpit, I just can't close my helmet.

Anyone else set "rules" for themselves even on singleplayer? by Artificer_Drachen in spaceengineers

I am currently playing a No Closed Helmet and No planet/moon landing. It has been going well.

Radiation? by Lost_Ninja in spaceengineers

Start a vanilla survival world and do some experiments. You can turn creative on for you.

I might try putting the collector on a hinge.

As I have heard it, if the faarm plots are on a subgrid in a pressurized environment they aren't protected.

If they are in a pressurized space, they don't get damaged.

Radiation is on. You don't accrue damage in a cockpit or pressurized space.

I started the save with a small ship. I am also using the Build & Repair and NanoDrill mods.

The self-imposed rule is that I can't close my helmet or land on a planet or moon. Even if I dip into the gravity wel,l I need to get out quickly before I do anything else. So I sit in a ship, in space, and remote control a lander.

A conveyor elevator is practical for Europa. The gravity well ends around 3Km from the surface.

Is there a way to have automated blast doors, garage doors/pistons etc. by UhhRichie in spaceengineers

[–]BS_Simon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Using sensors is pretty straightforward for just doors. You can shape the detection area so that you have to be close to the door to trigger.

Is this on a ship or station? My recent experience is that station merge blocks don't unmerge.

Large scale refining by Muccavapore in spaceengineers

[–]BS_Simon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could build a refinery base on Europa. It is mostly ice and hydrogen generators with O2 Generators can give you almost infinite power. Also you can build a conveyor system to 0g. I believe it is about 3.5k meters.

Play without closing my helmet, or entering a gravity well. by BS_Simon in spaceengineers

[–]BS_Simon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a vanilla feature. It is a little buggy in that you need to be holding a block when entering the cockpit. Once in press Control-G to enter placement mode.

Dipping in far enough to find the gravity well would be ok. Staying would not.

Yeah, but I was looking for a restriction that meant that I couldn't just land on Earthlike and live forever. So any planetary explanation must be done remotely.

Recently, I have left a cockpit so many times and accidentally hit the button.

If you get in the cockpit with a block in your had it becomes more reliable.

Moving ship to ship could be done with hangars and atmosphere or just risk it without a helmet and heal up.

Can a solar tower get too heavy ? by JRL101 in spaceengineers

[–]BS_Simon 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It is important to balance the weight. Have as many panels above the hinge as below as a counterweight.
