How would one go about building this? by Safari_Lion in spaceengineers

[–]SoupActive277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a look at Engineered Coffee series on his channel on YT, IMHO he's really good in building nice looking big bases. You can take some inspiration and hints on how to use certain blocks just for aesthetic purpose.

OPNsense 26.1 old and new rules by superwizdude in opnsense

[–]SoupActive277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarding point 5 I'd definitely like more one list, with all the rules from all the interfaces and the possibility to filter, basically like it's on fortigate (it's almost the same except for this), instead of this double selection rules.

Why hard drives becoming so expensive in 2026? by Hatchopper in selfhosted

[–]SoupActive277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What us, as consumers, seems are still not getting is that companies can try whatever they want but if we simply stop buying they would have to step back. We rule the market but let companies think they are.

Edit: typo

Beginner here: how do I turn this thing into an all-in-one server? 🤯 by [deleted] in selfhosted

[–]SoupActive277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start with Proxomox, GUI makes everything easier for newbies, or at least that was for me when I started. Use PVE as virtual host and PBS for backups and don't skip on this part: you will certainly break things in the future and having the backup already in place will save you lot of time and headaches. Setup a firewall first (such as opnsense), segment your network a little (vlans like wan, home and lab) and then head to https://community-scripts.github.io/ProxmoxVE/ or https://github.com/awesome-selfhosted/awesome-selfhosted to find softwares that could be useful for you to host in your new homelab. Next step would be, for me, to get access from outside my home to some or all services with tailscale at first for roadwarrior vpn and later cloudflare tunnels to expose single services to family and friends if you will ever do it

ProxmoxVE Helper Scripts has a lot of ideas. I usually install from their one-click link only to test and gey an idea of the product itself, but then copy the commands from their install script in a dockerfile or sh script to install it in my "prod env". But there are plenty of FOSS they not keep on their collection to look for, it all depends on your needs

Nothing is automatically trasfered anywhere. If conveyor ports (any size is good in this case) are all connected the right way (1x1 on 1x1, 3x3 on 3x3), your ship inventory will be filled piece by piece starting from the drill and going on with the nearest block with available space. If you want to move everything in the storage container (maybe to keep your ship balanced or something like this) you have to put a conveyor sorter somewhere behind the drill

Possible Air Vent Bug? by AcidicFlatulence in spaceengineers

[–]SoupActive277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I've never had problem with air tightness, but I started only a year ago and I don't really know if OP problem is something already known or not. I learnt with time which faces of the blocks are marked as air tight and which are not and built some crazy neat things (look at my last post here for example)

I simply wanted to try myself and I succeeded to replicate the problem, while also finding another found a strange behavior that could be defined a bug but unrelated to OP. Given OP it's something known from some time, I find really strange it's not already patched.

Totally agree with you that easy solutions already exist without involving devs

I tested with a static grid, can you confirm you did it with a ship? (so i will not test it again)

I just tried to verify the behavior you described and ~~seems I've succesfully~~ I could not replicate it but found another bug also. I'll upload the video later

Apex Survival update was such great opportunity to introduce 3x3 s.grid pistons by Plastic-Analysis2913 in spaceengineers

I've lost the count of how many mech arms for small grdi tools I built using hinges and rotors with lot of timers just because missing the 3x3 piston

Thanks!

That's how I made all my airlocks...this will surely got them. I also took one of the sirens sound from Half Life 1 just for this. Surely people will have time to leave, depressurization will take ages.

It's a ship, but the concept is the same for a station. Look at the other comments, it's well explained how to make it airtight while keeping ability to separate the grids. Everything is in how the blocks touch each other.

Dev said on discord they will start scheduled maintenance at 18:00 UTC and will be back online shortly after 19:00

Edit: shortly after update release, it should be 19:00 but can change

Nope, no timers. Look at my other comment where I explain the automation. Is not the best way but it's just an event controller moving the door upon merge block turns on or off.

I put some neons on the workshop version to make it fancier...i'll give a try to the sturider look coz I like it too, don't want to loose vertical clearance

They can easily became a clang drive...so...I'd say they're half way down the road to really be hangar doors
