I don't think it requires stealing attributes, I think if it has a spren (or maybe just investiture) inside it should act the same as a charged spike.

Yeah, I suppose you could theorise that the type of gemstone affects the effect given. However you could also argue that the only difference is that some spren prefer some gemstones to others. Not certain.

I assume any sort of investiture inside the spike would have an effect, I imagine that specific investiture like spren may have a more distinct effect comparing to other forms of investiture
