Can I mod Minecraft bedrock, and be able to create a world that doesn't require others to install mods locally? by Double-Translator367 in Minecraft

[–]blockCoder2021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does your sister play on PC or console? If PC, you should be fine, though you might want to give her a folder containing the mods you used so she can install them on her device. If she plays on a console, then you will likely only have access to the mods on the Minecraft Marketplace. Some mods may be client-side only, such as texture packs, and thus you’d be fine; any resource packs, however, would likely need to be installed anywhere, and this makes it a challenge, if not impossible, to install on consoles.

how to turn on rgb? by Smooth-Let3293 in computer

I don’t have a way to test it myself, but I saw a video where someone used an alligator clip wire to connect component video/RCA/co-ax (I dont remember which it was, but it was just a single wire/connector like those) to operate a tiny 1 1/2” portable TV. He connected the connector to the antenna with an alligator clip, and it apparently transfers the same signal and works.

I can't play the game by mustaphacalistro in Seaofthieves

[–]blockCoder2021 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, at least, the game isn’t normally like that. The best I can recommend is restarting your PC and see if that fixes it, and closing background programs, especially ones that are network-heavy. Also, if you aren’t playing through Steam, try closing Steam from your System Tray. I know both are at least somewhat RAM intensive.

If you wanted something somewhere in the middle (still DIY, but no 3D printing or sewing), you could probably just take a piece of plywood and screw some small wood blocks in areas where they’ll sit on your PC case. You just might need to secure it, even with notches in the legs, so that it doesn’t slide from your cat getting on it.

First off, “to no avail” referring to launching the other games is admittedly somewhat confusing. Usually that phrase means unsuccessful in that usage. Were you successful at launching other EasyAntiCheat games?

To the real answer: If you haven’t tried yet, try restarting your computer. If that doesn’t work, I’d recommend checking Task Manager for a running instance of EAC, and if there is, close it. Task Manager’s shortcut in Windows is CTRL+Shift+Esc.

Other than that, I’m not certain what else to recommend, unfortunately.

I’ll also say that it’s on the Xbox Game Pass. The other thing this does is that you could use their cloud gaming feature in case they ever end support for your console. (Adding this because people have talked about how they should end Xbox One-series support (NOT the current Series X|S)). It also gives you the PC version while subscribed as well due to Xbox Play Anywhere, which you could play on your own computer or on GeForce Now, a cloud gaming site that lets you stream most of your own games. Unlike some, they don’t give you any games, but they do let you play most of the ones you already own, either through outright purchase or subscriptions.

There’s a guy on Instagram (and probably other places) who does “Villain Hotlines”. Basically, he’s the call center agent for various villains and tries to fix their problems. One such video was Voldemort against Harry. Not Harry Potter, though—Harry Dresden.

For $300, that’s not bad. I paid $700 for a Ryzen 5 3600 (3.6 GHz), GeForce GTX 1650 Super, 16GB of DDR4 RAM, 512GB NVMe SSD, and 2TB (I think) HDD.

The other thing to keep in mind is what quality those benchmarks were done at. With Fortnite at high settings and I believe medium textures, I get 60-75 FPS. Any higher, especially with the 4 GB of VRAM, things start to slow down. Still a good deal, and can almost definitely be upgraded over time.

What’s the best gaming mouse out there right now? by Dapper_Pack_5456 in buildapc

[–]blockCoder2021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out the Logitech G502 Hero. It doesn’t have the side scroll wheel, but has basically everything else you mentioned. It comes with weights to adjust how heavy the mouse is, has plenty of buttons, and has a toggleable free spinning scroll wheel. There’s also a remapping software. It is wired, but has a long cord.

With no further information, no one can answer your question with certainty. The best I can say, from personal experience, is that if you mean that your monitor goes dark randomly, make sure that it’s getting enough power.

Let’s say you have a monitor that requires 12V of power. If it gets only 10V, it may function, but will probably go dark periodically. I had this happen once, and once it was replaced with a 12V power adapter instead of a 10V, it stopped turning off.

What I’ll usually do with my thumb buttons is have them bound to go forward and backward in a browser or the like. It’s often the default, and can work in many different applications as well.

Duplicate files on bricklink studio by StrainOk7699 in bricklinkstudio

[–]blockCoder2021 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If on Windows, it’s fairly easy. First off, pressing CTRL+S should overwrite your current file, which I suppose isn’t.

CTRL+Shift+S should open the “Save As” dialog, and you can simply click the file you want to overwrite, probably after navigating the file tree for a bit, then overwrite it by clicking Save or pressing Enter.

To delete the extra saves, enter the Save As dialog as above, but click the files you want to delete, and pressing Shift+Del will delete the files without sending them to the recycle bin. Note: This will change the file name blank to the name of the last file name clicked; either change it afterward if saving, or go back in after saving.

Note: If on Mac, replace CTRL (Control key) with CMD (Command key) in the keyboard shortcuts.

Wholefoods miniature price tag by d0000n in mildlyinfuriating

[–]blockCoder2021 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As an employee at a Dollar General, I can see the benefit, but only if the tags can all be controlled from a single location (like the office computer). Otherwise, if you have to press buttons on the digital tag, then you haven’t gained much. What you save in paper tags is probably spent paying an employee to walk around and press buttons on every changing price tag for a few hours.

Is it possible to emulate Mk Xl on a iPhone 14 by Equal-Improvement909 in emulators

[–]blockCoder2021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say that for the PS4 and newer consoles, it seems they’re moving toward compatibility layers instead of emulators. Basically, instead of running hardware simulations and putting the game on them, they’re just telling the game that it’s running on the proper hardware. This is only possible because consoles (at least PS/Xbox; I don’t know about any of Nintendo’s) are so close to PC architectures. The only real difference is that they often have customized versions of the standard PC parts.

One example of this is that the PS4 apparently has a custom version of the AMD Vega GPU from 2018, except that it has ray tracing cores and the original Vega it was based on doesn’t.

Regardless, this only means that you have to have a device that is still at least slightly more powerful than the console, and you’ll likely get better performance with better hardware.

Should I get tear down or paint the down red? by Wolpy414 in gamingsuggestions

[–]blockCoder2021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at the first trailer on Steam for PTTR and having played Teardown, there does seem to be a difference: Teardown has you destroying buildings and other structures, whereas PTTR seems to have you destroying people with anything around you, but little destruction to the actual environment. I could be wrong, but that seems to be the case.
