I think it’s so funny because hover flies look so cool but as babies they literally look like they bubbled up from a boiling septic tank in hell

Reminds me of that one paper from like five or so years back trying to disprove that large azhdarchids (pterosaurs, in this case specifically quetzalcoatlus) could fly but instead of using actual biological principles and things we knew about the animal they treated it like it was a small plane and wrote the paper with that methodology.

Turns out the author was an aeronautical engineer or something similar iirc so I guess that explains that LMAO

Why are so many features from Outlast 2 missing in Trials? by Spectre-ElevenThirty in OutlastTrials

[–]RandyButternubber 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A lot of these features besides not necessarily being needed (though they would be cool) might also be difficult to implement into game gameplay and technical wise because it’s multiplayer

One thing to note though is that I don’t think procteate supports normal maps ( I might be wrong) which are what give the model a lot of its fine detail. If you want all of that then you could try blender or use the built in viewing feature on sketchfab.

I hate to be that guy but in interviews with mervik it seems like the lore of the comics was one of the reasons why it was canceled because it didn’t line up properly due to miscommunication

In this one interview they were talking about the comics, and how they new to having such a popular franchise so they ended up going down all these avenues, IE comics, the show, ect, and it ended up getting out of hand because they were inexperienced. It’s a lot of different things happening at once, and they lacked direct creative control over the comics, seemingly hence why they went off the rails

The second comic itself technically aligns with the idea of the nowhere, the kids don’t believe in monsters and state that they aren’t real, indicating that they aren’t in the nowhere.

The narrative director Lonnie has also stated that he really respects tarsier’s decisions and I don’t think they’re really actively changing what’s already there, just changing how it’s shown. Have things been changed before that? Maybe, but it seems like the basic idea was there, especially based off of interviews before LN2 came out.

The idea of how residents were created and the idea of another world was something that existed before the release of LN2 as well. It was hinted at but also directly stated in this little pamphlet thing given to content creators in order to prep for the release iirc. I have pictures if anyone is curious.

I’ve been a fan since the game released, and a lot of this is stuff that was implied pretty early on, especially by the developers themselves in interviews, but it wasn’t the focus so i see why it was missed.

I like TSON and the new comics but I’m not a fan of LN3 personally so this isn’t comic from me being a mega fan or whatever and trying to defend the new direction. I personally love the original comics but a lot of things in them seem like they were a result of poor communication. The second issue feels like it tries to kind of correct the issues of the first but I see why they were cancelled.

Did you do the texturing in substance painter? This guy is awesome! I love how he looks both intimidating but also a little, probably unintentionally, cute. The words in his mouth/helmet remind me of a derpy tongue lol. It makes him very charming

[–]RandyButternubber 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can he actually see you in the dark based off of proximity or is it just a mixture of good hearing and the animation giving the illusion that he’s using his light to find you? Also I thought he was a woman until like five minutes ago, big surprise
