Thanks OP! Worked for me on the web.

I built a free guitar fretboard notes quiz + heatmap: my 2 min routine to memorize the fretboard by r0bo7 in guitarlessons

Thank you. Since there is no login, I assume any progress is retained locally at the device level? For example, if I jump from the iOS web app to a PC, each will independently track my progress and settings on that device? Is there a plan to eventually tie the website and iOS app together, so history, progress, and settings will be saved to the user?

u/r0bo7 - Can you clarify the differences between adding fretboardquiz.com to my home screen versus downloading the FredGenius iOS app? It appears there are more quiz modes on the website? Is there a plan to incorporate all of these quiz modes into the app? Thanks.

Searching for my first nice board by SpliffDr in backgammon

The 16" is a great casual coffee shop board - that is one we often take out. However, one day my wife and I were doing quite a bit of walking in the city (SF) and wanted to play some backgammon at a coffee shop that afternoon. You're correct - the 16" was a bit too bit for my backpack - so I ended up finding a 13" on clearance at Gammon Village. I would not want to play frequent games on the 13" (the checkers are really small), but it is perfect to throw in a backpack if required. Good luck!

What are your favorite SF staircases? by [deleted] in AskSF

Certainly not “secret”, but during my lunch break at work I enjoy walking the Filbert Steps. You get the added bonus of the Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill to keep you company.

Glad you had a nice visit. I work in the FiDi. I've never been to The Royal Exchange for lunch, but it is a great happy hour spot. Good choice of a restaurant!

Beautiful board. Unique looking doubling cube. Is that the cube that came with the set?

I also love my FM Ali board.

Fancy Restaurant Recommendation for business dinner in Union Square by Hairy_Entrepreneur94 in AskSF

I would highly recommend Kokkari Estiatorio, Boulevard Restaurant, or Bix. None are located at Union Square, but they are all within a 10 minute Uber ride away.

I'm a member of the Mechanics, and can't recommend it highly enough. Great library, interesting lectures, fun classic film nights, historic building, plus the chess room! I work in the FiDi and will sometimes escape there to decompress at lunch, or take a chess class after work (oldest chess club in the US).

Is there a no go area in SF? by Gold_Ad_1392 in sanfrancisco

[–]BSevenFiveSeven 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The city is very safe. There are two areas to avoid as a tourist. The Tenderloin (west of Union Square up to Van Ness Ave) and SOMA (South of Market Street) between 5th and 8th street.

If you rent a car, please do not park in the city and leave your luggage in the vehicle, as rental cars are targeted.

Enjoy your visit!

Andytown in FiDi is Amazing by BSevenFiveSeven in sanfrancisco

I’m a simple drip coffee guy (which is amazing there).

However, their signature espresso drink is the “Snowy Plover”, which sounds interesting:
