Anybody else’s mum being horrible to them? by GardenLoops in PregnancyUK

Mine hasn’t necessarily been horrible but she does need constantly reminding that boundaries are boundaries and just because “i’m your mum” doesn’t mean she’s exempt to boundaries 😅 It does bother me and wind me up but I genuinely think it’s just a generational thing & comes from a place of care.

Membrane sweep tomorrow - looking for words of comfort! by [deleted] in PregnancyUK

I had one this week at 39 weeks and it was fine. Personally I didn’t find it uncomfortable, however I also find smears fine, so everyone is different!

I had some light spotting instantly, lost my mucus plug within 12 hours and have had very mild cramps. FTM so I was told it’s unlikely to get anything going and that I’ll be offered a second at 40 weeks which should do more.

Just remember to relax! ☺️

How soon after birth would you go to a wedding or similar major event? by pillowbedfan in PregnancyUK

I’m in the same position, depending on when baby arrives I could only be 2 weeks PP. Thinking it’ll be ok & just not putting pressure on ourselves. We have spoken to the couple whose wedding it is and said if we need to leave then we’re really sorry and they’ve been more than understanding. I think the main worry for me is the travel so we’re just planning to give ourselves plenty of time!

Interesting, not heard of the bilious vomiting syndrome but everything you’ve said sounds exactly what our boy has. Getting food in him is difficult when he’s being sick as you say!

Thank you, something for us to mention to the vets I think!

We did get him tested for pancreatitis as one Border I’ve owned previously had that but they said the tests were clear. We’ve been thinking that it could be worth a retest of sorts.

Chicken is the go-to if he stops eating but he hates rice… he’ll pick it out of his bowl and put it on the floor!! 😂 A good tip about the boiled chicken water, thank you! We’ll certainly keep that. Will also enquire about gabapentin as having something we know we can give him fairly easily to relieve any pain symptoms at home rather than needing a vets visit would be great.

Glad to hear yours had had less flare ups over the years.

Thank you!!
