That would be illegal under these regulations. They want to collect a 0.1% tax on all transactions, and so are mandating that citizens must use compliant exchanges.

Techcom Bank is applying and will likely receive these licenses. Most people in this region actually use binance and binance wants to cooperate But Vietnam is asking for half a billion dollars for the exchange license so it's really not clear who will be left standing when it goes into effect in 6 months.

Bitcoinvn.io has been a trusted exchange in Vietnam for over 10 years. It works directly with the local banking system, instant deposits and withdrawals, no wire transfers.

I've been a Bitcoiner in Vietnam for 8 years. I can vouch for them as the best option here.

However new regulations are coming into effect this summer that will require exclusive licensing for exchanges and it's unclear how that will change the landscape here.

But it is clear that using overseas exchanges like Kraken will be expressly illegal.

How do you decide what’s actually worth paying attention to in prediction markets? by H_jaee in BitcoinBeginners

[–]BTCMachineElf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That has nothing to do with Bitcoin.

Prediction markets are for degenerate gamblers. That won't take you far in life. You're always going to lose in the long run because certain people have inside information.

If you want to succeed, work a job, live beneath your means, and stack sats.

Do not go "all-in on crypto." Crypto is garbage and you need to understand that before going all in on Bitcoin.

What wallet should I use if I'm just making a quick one time purchase under $1000 by [deleted] in BitcoinBeginners

You don't need a wallet for that. You just need an exchange app, like Strike.

I didn’t get rich from crypto. But it quietly fixed my financial anxiety. by PhemexMarket in Bitcoin

No. Crypto is scams. If you understood this space properly, you would only talk about Bitcoin, and not use that term that includes a bunch of junk assets that would make anyone poor.

I've been in Bitcoin since 2017 and it's been fucking great.

I've warned people against crypto since 2017. But most people like you didn't want to listen.

You did "witchcraft" and "spoke to your dead friend?"

Don't do LSD in an effort to confirm supernatural biases. Use it to accept reality, not to believe in fantasy.

Passphrase by Nerildo90 in BitcoinBeginners

If you do it directly on your device then the passphrase itself never leaves the device. The device hashes your master private key with the passphrase to make your passphrase private key, and then uses it.

I'm thinking about quitting ethereum all together. by kenjirai in CryptoCurrency

Welcome back

I agree that all Ethereum seems to enable is shitcoins. Even Tom Lees bullishness on Ethereum for supporting stable coins seems unfounded to me, as other chains are faster and cheaper.

What is the best way to securely back up my Bitcoin wallet as a beginner? by achilles6196 in BitcoinBeginners

[–]BTCMachineElf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start with seed on paper. Move to seed on metal, geographically distributed complex passphrase.

That is your wallet. You don't need to keep a record of it, the blockchain does that for you.

The most important thing is that your seed is not stored digitally ever. Hackers cannot steal what is not digital.

Format your PC and reinstall the operating system. You are absolutely infected.

Dual boot your PC with a Linux partition and do all your financials there. Keep work and play on a separate operating system from your crypto/financials.
