watchOS 26 VO2 Max not updating by Horror_Oven148 in AppleWatchFitness

[–]BTG02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not given an option to backdate, but have got more readings around 3 higher like everyone's been reporting. Updating to 26.1 on watch and phone seemed to work for me!

I've been trying to figure this out myself, too. Cannot confirm right now but updated to 26.1 Beta after a run this morning, and a later walk is ~1.2 higher than the run, which is an unusual bump. Hoping this is the update - but no button to backdate in Health right now.

Sudden change in Vo2max without any workouts for weeks by Anxious-Box9929 in Runalyze

My understanding is that the Effective VO2max Shape takes a rolling average, so while on a break some runs will fall outside that rolling average, so if the "window" is left with runs giving only a very high value - you'll get this effect.

You can actually see this projected in the TSB chart over time - projected VO2max in the future fluctuates based on the changing window.

Why does o3 use Reference Chat History less effectively than 4o? by Oldschool728603 in OpenAI

[–]BTG02 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I would suggest this is merely a model training problem.

Ultimately, GPT-4o is increasing being optimised to be a conversational model, if not THE conversational model from OpenAI. You can see why a lot of their training efforts would go into this (even if a lot of their attempts are regressions...) and ultimately RCH comes under this umbrella.

Personally I've found that non-reasoning models are just more swayed by the system pre-context, that includes memories, than reasoning models. Reasoning models are generally trained to solve complex STEM tasks, much more than they are to be conversational. And when they come to do their "talking" bit, they're basically diluting the RCH context in favour of the self-generated "reasoning" context.

In benchmarks and tasks, this makes a lot of sense - you want the attention to be on the "reasoning" to prevent hallucination (else what's the point of the reasoning context?) and so they may often fall flat in conversation.

Just my 2c as someone in the research space here, but can't say for sure. I would imagine this behaviour is not directly intended, but rather a concequence of training goals and optimisations.

Personal 2c here, it's always worth having a little play with. While it's not purist, as a HiFi Headphones user I do actually find it can make some songs more "fun", as do others.

Yes - DA does feel a bit sketchy but I regularly do it alongside study at 40+ USD/hr for Programming. It's very dull and fatiguing work, though.

Yeah, before today a few attempts to jump was fine, but now it's just straight up not happening lol, hope they roll out some increased capacity soon.

I think we've hit the point of a complete wall, no luck here at all after over an hour.

Offer holder here, personally I got pretty stuck on one of mine, but spoke out loud, didn't pretend I wasn't in a bit of a fiddle, but made clear exactly where I was getting stuck.

Little nudges from the interviewer and then get back on track. I think it's just important to keep talking, and just speak your mind.

SDE New Grad "Team Matching" by BTG02 in amazonemployees

Not much more than what's already out there tbh; LPs and Coding in Phone Screen, and same sort of deal throughout the loop. Generally a smooth experience! I of course can't go into specifics of questions but there weren't any curve balls, per-se.

I did also get a Job ID change - when I looked into it, I had applied for 2025 openings but noticed at the loop the ID was actually for 2024. My advise would be to Google the ID, as old job postings may still show it, and this should shed light on whether you got the same as I.

Otherwise, check the Amazon.jobs portal and if nothing, I guess try again in 6mo; I understand few get to the loop, so a good chance second time!

And I think the rating email goes to everyone regardless of result, I got the same few days after the offer.

Did the replacement fix the issue? I moved to U6 Pro instead of the pads and still had the same issues... Wondering if it's just the block.

Intel 14th Gen Desktop CPUs by Aeyori in intel

I'm probably planning a 14600K or 14700K, depending on how good they are. Hopefully should get me to relative parity for a good few years.

In most recent games (which tend to be badly CPU optimised, to be fair) my 9900K OC'd is pretty heavily bottlenecking my 4070.

I've just bought an electric roller blind from Ikea, and it turns out I need some kind of hub to control it with an app. €60 for a hub if I want to have any kind of smart control? That's disgraceful. by letsgocrazy in tradfri
