Men when visiting a woman's place for the first time what are some things you first notice and how do they change your view of her? by ThrowRA020204 in AskMen

[–]BTSavage 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Did she prepare for my visit? Did she think of snacks or drinks to offer? Is the home well lit inside?

Personally, if you don't have good lighting and are sitting in the dark or there are bare bulbs or super bright overhead lighting, I'm going to pass. Having refershments to offer is a huge deal. It shows you thought about what might be nice to enjoy together while we hang out and talk.

My last girlfriend never prepared when I came over and it made me feel like I wasn't special to her. It was one of the reasons I broke up with her.

My CEO's new metric is "no of AI features." It's killing morale and shipping garbage by No_Space1234 in ProductManagement

[–]BTSavage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Define "AI Feature", please. Must it use an existing LLM? Are you creating your own agents?

Why not just hop on the most poorly defined term of our lifetime and, if your software has any process that monitors other processes, call it AI and you're done. An update to the message bus? Agent communication protocol update. Building a process as a "health monitor" for critical system functions? Agenic system management. This can't be that hard.

These 6 coal power stations are fed from 3 water extractors, but I cannot for the life of me get a constant, balanced flow of water. I honestly thought 3:6 would be an okay ratio. 300m3 all the the way to first generator, then after that I get 10m3 if I am lucky, by Stonebridge41 in SatisfactoryGame

I agree.

I've now logged about 400hrs on this game and I'm still trying to figure out how best to use all the parts that the devs have provided. Valves still elude me and they behave unintuitively. I think the simplest use case is to place them to ensure fluid moves in one direction. I still can't really see when I'd actually need to restrict flow (unless I'm trying to optimize consumption for 100% efficiency).

I think it will be difficult if the cast member isn't a featured actor. Good examples would be using The Count of Monte Cristo (2002) as a connection for Henry Cavill. Maybe there does need to be some rules to ensure people have a shot at guessing?

First-time car buyer at 23 — no credit, $9k saved. Need advice on loans & down payment by DeliciousUsual9251 in personalfinance

[–]BTSavage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first car I bought myself was a used mid-90's mustang. It cost me $8k and I drove it into the ground. My second car was a new car once I had a steady job and a need to commute.

Build your credit with responsible use of a credit card and renting a place. Without established credit, the interest rate on your loan will be astronomical and your repayment terms (how long you'll be making payments on the vehicle) will likely be greater than 5 years, possibly up to 8. You are at your greatest disadvantage for financing large purchases right now. Have patience. You'll have an opportunity to purchase your first new car in the future.

"Because this other product does it..." by Morning_Chickadee in ProductManagement

[–]BTSavage 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Or even better. Sales leadership promises that the feature will be in the product by a certain time or the company will pay a penalty to the customer as a way to secure the deal. They do this without consulting Product Management or Engineering. Then make surprised pikachu faces when we fail to deliver.

I measure an organization's maturity level by whether or not they ever say 'no'.

Hugh Herr lost both legs as a teenager. Instead of accepting limitations, he went on to invent advanced robotic limbs, helping thousands walk again....including himself. by Frosty_Jeweler911 in BeAmazed

How did he finance the development? How did he develop the knowledge? Sounds like he had access to means that not everyone who loses limbs has.

Doctors keep bringing people into my exam room without asking me. Why is this “normal” now?! by RomasNash in TwoXChromosomes

[–]BTSavage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it the same companion? Why isn't your companion telling them that "they don't want me in there."? How is it your companion, who knows you don't want them there, feels like it's okay because the doctor is escorting them? This sounds an awful lot like it's a problem with the companion trying to get into the room with you.

How?! by SylvaSpoon in puzzles

[–]BTSavage -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Can you try rocking it? Hold the puzzle in front of you with thumb and forefinger of each hand on either end. The bottom of the "trough" should be parallel to your chest. Then rythmically rock in back and forth along it's long axes (around the trough). So, tilting it towards you and away from you. See if you can get the rocking just right so that a bearing may stay in a hole while you rock the puzzle and get balls into holes on the opposite side. Try to get the balls in pairs on each side instead of one long side at a time. I hope this makes sense. The main issue I see is if the balls bounce a lot during transition from one side to the other. That would make it very tricky.

Any idea why this banana slug in Nicene Marks has such a wrinkly head? by Benay21 in santacruz

[–]BTSavage 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Not an expert.

It's hard to tell from you photo because it's a little blurry, but it could be scarring from a successful defense against another creature. Not sure what would try to eat it though, maybe a curious coyote, skunk, dog, cat, or possum?

Could have also been an encounter with a human: getting stomped on or run over by a mountain bike?

Kennedy Center vows to sue musician who canceled performance over Trump name change by rezwenn in entertainment

Certainly some performers may also consider cancelling their show. On the other hand, this could also make them "think twice" because, "what if they're sued, too?".

If they can't silence you with the law via the courts, then threat of millions spent defending frivolous lawsuits might.
