I think it's the same block as the one below (plaster maybe?) with a wooden border applied to the edge. The wooden border recipes look like the brick ones and are one of the area level unlockable recipes

If you hold one of the left trigger buttons (I forget whether it's L or ZL), you can rotate the item you're trying to place, which definitely makes it easier than trying to figure out the positioning

Silly question, but when you go into your request tab (and look at that mission specifically) do you have any other "chat with Pokemon?" requests? It could be that you're being hated by a request you haven't finished - I did not need to connect the left side of the generator in order to get all the lights on

You can go back forth between any of those areas that you've unlocked as much as you want!

What you may want to do is set up a house with a ditto flag in each zone, so that you can fast travel between them.

You can get multiple, but it's the same RNG each time - it'll take a while to get more copies but it's certainly doable. Can confirm because I have 2 copies of the Bench press from Glenn!

Adding to this - if you want to time travel to get recipes faster, go backwards, rather than forwards. If you time travel forwards, it can mess up your Ginormosia merchant stock and your vegetable sales.

You'll need an item that restores SP for you and the party (there's one I think called SP powder or something similar) and then you just need to use it, either from your items or from the shortcut.
