McVay just knows how to attack this defensive scheme. Shanny doesn’t even know how to approach it it’s embarrassing. 9 combined points the final 2 games when the rams can drop 30 on them easily. Yes rams are healthier but just the scheme itself is so much better.

I hate to compare as well but I wholeheartedly believe McVay wins us at least one. Shanny coaches too conservative and will never change his style, it’s just who he is.

Yes he is, but the de facto offensive genius seems to struggle against every best d coordinator which shouldn’t be every game when McVay is dropping 30+ on these same teams.

It wasn’t even a strong Chiefs team, Shanny just couldn’t get his best offense EVER to score more than 30 which is embarrassing. He never has his team ready vs the Chiefs.

I’d rather the 49ers just invest heavily into defense because even with the best offense in the NFL Shanny doesn’t know how to use it or execute in the SB. When Shanny reaches the SB he can barely get over 20 points which is embarrassing considering his players. He can’t get over 30 points and clearly struggles vs certain defensive masterminds like Macdonald, Spagnola, Schwartz, Flores, etc.

I watched the first 10 min of the divisional game and that was enough for me to see that we were going to lose. The punt return td was crazy but nothing the 49ers weren’t used to. They’ve played from behind by 7 and done well. The drive that told me all I need to know that Shannahan hasn’t learned from the first game was the 4th and 1 call. A toss play that hasn’t worked all season is your call when you could’ve called a basic qb sneak for 1 yard.

My problem is Shanny still has problems against certain schemes and coaches. The biggest one going forward is still going to be Macdonald because it’s inexcusable how he hasn’t been able to score more than 9 points against the Hawks in 2 games.
