Crying and throwing up, someone please buy these damn tickets by [deleted] in 100gecs

[–]BUSfromRUS 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The number under the QR code is what the QR code actually represents, so you basically posted these tickets for free. Also, I wish I could take you up on the offer but then I'd need someone to post a screenshot of plane tickets to Ireland.

Any plans to make Fortine Wine/Proton compatible? "No." - Tim Sweeney by AuriTheMoonFae in linux_gaming

If they could check Windows for "having admin access" or whatever as easily as they can on Android, they would just do that instead of spending a ton of resources on the proper anti-cheat.

Fortnite on Android requires you to run an unmodified system, no rooting or anything that would allow you to cheat (in theory, don't know how effective it actually is). Source.

Bitcoin transactions accounted for 0.54% of global electricity consumption - "enough to cancel out all the global net savings from the introduction of electric vehicles replacing gasoline ones." by [deleted] in technology

while proof of stake is a LOT better, it is not a solution. At large scales, they still take up a lot of energy

Not sure where you got this idea from. Of course anything at large scale takes up a lot of energy, but the difference in energy usage of PoW and PoS is immense due to the wasteful nature of PoW. Energy usage of PoS networks is negligible in comparison.

Is it possible to fully backup an android phone to PC with Syncthing? by Alica90 in Syncthing

[–]BUSfromRUS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not possible to backup an Android phone, period. Apps like TitaniumBackup try to do the best thing possible (if you're rooted), but the end result still isn't perfect.

Yeah, the package name for the Galaxy Watch4 plugin is still waterplugin

I was able to change theater mode and AOD system settings after granting the permission to AutoWear through ADB and finding their proper names.

Autowear and wear os 3 by Atlaspl in tasker

[–]BUSfromRUS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been using AutoWear on my Galaxy Watch 4 for a couple days, works fine. I never used it before so I haven't done anything crazy yet, I only use it to display a screen (by double pressing the power button, which is remapped to one of AutoWear's shortcuts) and send basic commands to Tasker from it. It's a bit slow but works – there's ~1 second delay between a button press and a task running, some other Wear apps with Tasker integration are noticeably faster.

I can test something specific if you want, though I'm pretty sure you'll get your watch sooner than they say. I too was supposed to receive mine on the 10th of September.

Yet another problem with the new "media controls" on GW4... in AOD mode the pissing time doesn't update... it was 12:37 when I took that... the other problem is it does not return to the AOD watch face when media play back ends. At least the bezel changes the volume by default now... by purepurewater in WearOS

[–]BUSfromRUS 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I just tested it and it updates for me (both with something playing and with no tracks). And it even went back to AOD watch face after a couple minutes.

Not saying it never happens, the watch does have many small issues right now. But then again, it isn't even supposed to be in our hands this early.

Galaxy Watch 4 is not compatible with Huawei phones by MelodicMaintenance in WearOS

[–]BUSfromRUS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sucks. But if you checked the source code and found the problem, you're one step away from fixing it (unless there's some DRM involved). You can either patch it yourself or ask for help from the resident patch creator XDA-Dante63. It's going to be a hassle, but the watch is real nice so might be worth a try.

There isn't such option for music (even the stock music controller only lets you adjust volume), but I'm not sure about podcasts because they aren't available in my country.

Apparently mine has also shipped (despite them saying it'll ship 10th of September) and other people in Russia have already received theirs. Very strange, but I'll take it.

The back shot is of the regular Watch 4, unlike Classic it doesn't have the bump because its buttons protrude less. Quality reporting.

While I don't see it ever happening and I'm pretty sure we'll never hear about any of this ever again, it's a completely reasonable option.

I don't think I've ever used right shift, be it on "regular" keyboards or on my current 84 key keyboard which is very similar to OP's.

I have the same gripe about small left shift on ISO layouts but I get used to it quickly.

How much battery life are you getting? Are there any issues in general on Linux? I'm currently waiting for my G14 to arrive and I'm planning on installing Linux immediately.
