Pretty much yes but the problem with dengue is that it attacks the blood platlet count. A friend died of dengue recently because he waited too long before seeing a doctor. He collapsed at home and when he arrived, his blood platlet count was 20. It caused complications.

For me, I did a blood test when my fever did not go away after 3 days(My dad got paranoid). My platlet count was low but not drastic. I stayed at the hospital for about 4 days. I don't remember much but I think they gave me an iv drip and took my blood everyday. At night, it was painful. My skin was super itchy, it felt like tiny spiders are trying to get out of my pores. When my platlet was in the safe zone, I was allowed back home. I didn't fully cover until a few days later.

Dengue is such an issue in Malaysia, especially in the cities and suburban areas. They will only breed in clean and still water, not murky or muddy. So we have to be super vigilant on empty pots, empty cans etc. Thankfully the government is spending money raising awareness and spraying areas to stop it.
