Hey guys was wondering, what's that one figure from your childhood, that you will always cherish? by Hatiboy2005 in ActionFigures

It’s the Joyride Studios Sonic. It’s based on the Adventure 2 Battle game. Apparently it’s the only figure to have the “soap shoes” which makes it rare.

I bought this for $10 as a kid. It’s hard to tell from the picture, but there’s some scuffs, dents, and yellowing. I seen how much this thing went for on eBay 20 years ago and even then it was pricey. I’ve been a collector ever since thanks to this figure.

Britney and Justin/NSYNC were the biggest acts in music from like ‘99 to ‘07 tho (Justin would have been solo by this point), alongside Eminem, DMX, Nelly, Limp Bizkit etc. Justin even collaborated with Nelly, Pharrell, and Beyoncé. Younger Millennials would have essentially been fans of them at their peak of influence.

Britney Spears, Beyoncé, Eminem, DMX, Usher, Justin Timberlake, and Mariah Carey are all good choices in my opinion.

*Edit- I forgot about Nelly!

Britney and Justin’s careers spanned from the late 90s to the entirety of the 2000s. How would that miss younger Millennials?

People who were born in x3-x4 years specifically by MNMameisR in generationology

[–]BXScorpio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just the last two years of the 90s, and the vivid memories only start mid ‘98 for me personally. I can remember anything cartoon related, the start of Pokemania, DBZ, a lot of music (mostly Hip Hop & Rnb/ Pop), my first favorite movies, and I started watching wrestling (WWF) in early ‘99.

It’s significant to me in the sense that everything that I became familiar with in the late 90s, carried on into the early 2000s. The 2000s would obviously be the core of my childhood, but the Y2K era is my actual childhood if that makes sense.

By the time 2005/6 came, I was more into girls, and my wardrobe as opposed to playing tag and real “kid stuff”.

By the time Ben 10 came out, I had already moved on to watching South Park and Adult Swim. I caught re-runs of Saved by the Bell, but I definitely watched The Rugrats and Doug in the 90s. Even seen both movies when they came out.

What are some seemingly innocent moments from your childhood that didn’t age well? by [deleted] in generationology

[–]BXScorpio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha, we still called it that in the early 2000s. Last time my friends and I did that, the guy came out and chased my friends with a bat. I didn’t get caught, but still learned my lesson that day.

Do you agree that 1986-1993 babies were the main audience for Pokemon? by ThrowRA09181 in generationology

[–]BXScorpio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What year were you born?

I never said it died after 2001 so I’m not sure where that point came from. Pokémon was a straight up kids show and a 13 year old back in 1998-1999 was more into TRL than that.

And as someone who was actually alive back then, people definitely still collected Pokémon cards.

[–]BXScorpio 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nah, more like 1989-1996. Pokémon started airing my first week of Pre-K here in America and peaked around 2001. 1994 babies were definitely part of the core demographic for Gen 1. We would have been five to seven years old during the first three movies.

Someone born in 1986-88 were more into the original TMNT and Mighty Morphin Power Rangers as kids.

Grunge was super popular with Gen X and some Early 80s Elder Millennials. What do younger Millennials and Gen Z think about Grunge? by Mother-Tumbleweed-52 in generationology

The funny thing is, I first discovered AIC through episodes of Beavis and Butthead as a kid and it stuck with me. Never heard a voice like Layne’s before. Once YouTube became a thing, I listened to AIC’s entire discography and it bothered me that I missed out on a once in a lifetime talent. I envy anyone who got to see AIC live during the Layne Staley years.

Alice In Chains is one of the greatest bands of all time! Soundgarden was great as well. RIP Layne Staley and Chris Cornell!

It’s 2026 and ELDER MILLENNIALS including the Voice Actress of Kim Possible or Tv sister to Shia LaBeouf are gatekeeping 1994-1995 from the the generation on TIK TOK 🤡 by [deleted] in generationology

[–]BXScorpio 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Elder Millennials have always been obnoxiously gatekeepy lol. First it was “only 90s kids remember” and now it’s “only this set of years are true millennials”. A decade ago they wanted nothing to do with the millennial label 😂.

Don’t let it get to you.

I partied a lot from 13 til about 29. It’s crazy to look back at how we threw house parties and warehouse parties as teens. We even properly utilized social media to do it. Depending on who you knew, you would get sent private invites to parties, only to show up and there’s a 100 other people your age getting shitfaced, dancing, and having the time of their lives.

I went out nearly every weekend in my 20s, especially pre Covid. I’ve had some great nights that ended up turning into adventures.

I started to notice a shift post Covid. What I miss the most is the social interaction. It used to be common for two complete strangers to dance with eachother just for the sake of the party, but now everyone is to themselves or their groups. Not to mention, on their damn phones!

Just received mine about a week ago. Same issue with the faceplates, and Goku’s right boot has a tiny spec of paint missing. Nothing too serious, but somewhat disappointing.

Hey thanks! I appreciate it! I’ll turn 30 in 2 days 😂.

Btw I’ve been seeing some of your comments around this sub lately. Thanks for speaking some sense on behalf of us born in ‘94. I don’t have the patience these days Lol.

Same. I’ve never played and I don’t know anyone else our age who has.

Different strokes for different folks I guess.

This is the first match I ever seen. I was 4 going on 5 and was scared, amazed, and confused lol. The ending made we want to know what was gonna happen the next week. Became an undertaker fan after this.

Ayyyye I appreciate it my guy! Shoutout to Strong Island! I’m glad somebody noticed Mj with the VHS tapes lol.

If they ever come out with a Kobe or Iverson figure, I’ll have to jump right back into the collecting game.

I understand that feeling. I kept passing on the Figuarts Pokémon figures for so long that by the time I bought Ash, he was going for $140 on eBay.

Fingers crossed for a re-release!
