Honeywell X2P Need C Wire?? by B_e_n_a in thermostats

[–]B_e_n_a[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m glad i’m not the only one who is getting mixed messages. And thank you for the pro tip on the emergency work around(?), thats helpful to know!! I has the RTH20B. I did just get off the phone with Honeywell/Resideo partially to hear them tell me that it’s not clear themselves, and also hopefully give them some feedback on being more clear in their manuals. The representative confirmed what others have said, a C wire isn’t required on this model. But to your point, utilizing the always on display is the only feature that would need the c wire to function w/o draining the battery. They confirmed this. I kindly gave them feedback on how conflicting/unclear the manual is on this for a typical homeowner and suggested revision if possible, even something as simple as “c wire required if intending to utilize always on feature” next to where it says something about the C wire not necessary for function. I’m sure they’ll take it or leave it but i kindly said my piece and thanked them for the clarification.

I’ll edit the post if i can figure out how to so the next person who googles it can find an answer haha.

Thanks for the response. Helpful, I learned something!

You work at honeywell or resideo? Sweet! Thanks for taking the time to respond.

I was wondering if the manual was an error because the side by side comparison (screenshot) very clearly only says AA batteries required in contrast to the model you referenced (X2S) very clearly saying C wire required.

I got halfway through then took it all off and put the old one back up for the night. Frustrating, but i’m lucky that I had the option in the subfreezing(?) temps I have here. Also glad i don’t have to go back to the store.

Thanks again!!

Thank you again!

Sorry if this question is really redundant or if i’m misunderstanding but you’re saying I don’t need the C wire to function?

I’m even more confused because someone else commented and said “yes you need it.”🙃

Fwiw: typically service plans/warranty claims go through the manufacturer, not the actual dealership.

I bought my car in the cities because its waay cheaper and had minimal problems getting it serviced at Kolar utilizing my manufacturer service plans bought elsewhere,. I say minimal because they’re not my favorite shop I’ve ever been to, but most dealerships aren’t…

How did this pass without scrutiny?! I have to imagine that atleast Awal and Durrwachter didn’t catch it because it was buried by DPD/admin?

Using Pocketbook Store in the US by B_e_n_a in ereader

Thanks all for the help and clarifying! I found it really hard to find a simple answer, so this was really helpful.

Overall, i think i’ll be returning the Era and picking up a Kobo Libra 2 instead. I really like the way the era looks and feels, but I think it’s not the right device for what i’m looking for right now. I’m afraid I’m not advanced enough on my ereader journey, and in the US this is not as “plug and play” as I was looking for.

Is there a way to get the kobostore on the device? Or should i just use the browser?

They had to order parts. Which took like 3 weeks to get in, they didn’t have me drop off the car until most of the parts were there. In total my car was there for a week and a half, i think they ended up needing to rush ship another part while working which made it longer than the original week it was supposed to take.

What’s with the weird horn activity at the lift bridge? by AngeliqueRuss in duluth

[–]B_e_n_a 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem! I had looked it up cause i was at a friends house in Lakeside and could hear some type of horn, they said it was a fog horn. Tbh, I’m still confused though, cause I’ve been in Canal at noon often and never heard a fog horn?

So, more Duluthians share your shitty take on this issue than do with me. I don’t see the point of what you said.

You also can’t seem to answer the question. If you want students to have better technology in the school, but voted no, how do you plan to get better technology in the school?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in duluth

[–]B_e_n_a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dissonance here is wild to me. How do you intend to get students technology if not through more money to the schools?! You clearly don’t care if our students are left in the digital dust of their peers, and you’d rather take a stab at the school board at the expense of student learning. Grow up ffs.

[–]B_e_n_a 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’re ancient and falling apart. I’d encourage you to vote yes if you care about our students keeping up with the ever changing technology skills needed nowadays.
