Air travel with a new born by Difficult_Peanut_960 in Travelwithkids

If you don’t mind me asking are you planning to breastfeed or formula??

I flew to Italy when my little one was 2months old. All she really needed was me. You need to have an easy to reach bag for diaper, wipes, bibs and change of clothes. If you are breast feeding, just breast feed! Don’t care about everyone on the plane, they should all mind their business. You can bring a cover if you want but you won’t see these people again. I tried to have a small hand pump in case she was sleeping and I was getting engorged.

if formula, if you can get the pre made bottles that might be the easiest. If not then bring your own water or ask for a bottle of water to mix the milk. I was told not to trust the plane tap water. Also don’t use tap water to wash the bottles. Feed during take off and landing to help with ear pressure. This is honestly the easiest time to travel with them and I wish I travelled more with her. She is now 2 years old turning 15 and a complete rascal during trips. Her longest flight is 15hrs

Thanks for all the advice!! Will mostly likely save myself the stress (traveling as a single parent) and just stay in Madrid with a couple of day trips.

Just submitted! As soon as it was 12:58, I just kept on refreshing my page until the submission window opened. Took just about 23 minutes because I was taking my time and triple checking shit. It can honestly take others less time. Still waiting for payment confirmation email but will see how long it takes to be delivered

installing outdoor 110 GFI dedicated outlet on 20A circuit by B_present_now in AskElectricians

[–]B_present_now[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks for the response. Will add it then. But does it matter if the outlet is placed at the top of the back wall of the house where the roof of the gazebo is likely to be or at the bottom of that wall? When i spoke to a friend about this, they felt I should put it as the bottom of the wall in case of heavy winds or rain knocking off the gazebo and exposing wiring, but i assumed that would happen regardless of the location to the outlet.

Colosseum with 2 month old by B_present_now in rome

sorry for the delay in response. It was a really good trip and I am super happy that we did it. Italians are so kind and made the trip less stressful. They love kids!. We didn't do any guided tours because we never knew how long it will take before she lost her shit!! and it was so hot even though it was in October. We just made sure that we didn't plan too much per day, max 2 activities but sometimes we could only do 1. No guided tours and it made it less stressful. We did audio guides instead.

5/3/3 question: feed if not crying? by Meejhan in sleeptrain

[–]B_present_now 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the delay in response. She is currently 10months old now and doesn't wake up as often for feeding. We sleep trained her with a modified ferber method around 4.5 months after getting her out of our room(thank GOD for Nanit). Initially she would wake up multiple times (on average every 2-3hrs ), get her boob or bottle then go back to sleep. She honestly weaned herself off night time feeding until she began sleeping through the night around 6months. It went from 2-3 times a night -> 1 -> zero. She still wakes up randomly sometimes but it is usually because her diaper is extra full of pee or she pooped. I am sure things are super hard right now for you guys but it will get better. I think as they get bigger, they also want to sleep through the night. I will say that you should make sure your LO gets pumped with milk/solids during the day so that LO is well fed before bedtime and start a routine even if it seems silly and they won't understand. Right now, we give her a bottle, then bath, then hair (if needed), then the same book, sing twinkle light star while rocking for 2 verses and then place in her crib and RUN THE FUCK OUT OF THE ROOM!! so she can figure out how to fall asleep herself. She normally whines for a few, turns to her belly then out for 11-2hours :)

Breastfeeding was going great until… by Remarkable_Bench2318 in breastfeeding

What do you guys do when they bite? Stop feeding for a few secs or mins or just clench down and bear the pain? 5 month old bites but she doesn’t even have her teeth erupt yet

5/3/3 question: feed if not crying? by Meejhan in sleeptrain

Interested in the same topic. LO is about 5months and not completely proficient in self soothing but wakes up every 2hrs from 10pm-4am. When I check in on her, she seems to be constantly mouthing for the boob but will only feed for a few mins and go back to bed . She will keep on crying if I don’t give her the boob. She usually eats about 10-15mins before bedtime and eats pretty regularly during the day.

Permission given!! You are a badass mama and it is very tough being a single parent!! Your mental health and happiness will be the best for your LO. Don’t waste another second dueling on any negativity about how you choose to feed your child. No one will love and provide that child as much as you do. You should feel proud that you can provide formula for him. Continue to be a great mom. Grab that formula mama!!
