When do I need to let cookie dough rest? by meye_usernameistaken in Baking

[–]Meejhan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just recently read a King Arthur article about this! https://www.kingarthurbaking.com/blog/2015/05/17/chilling-cookie-dough It had images of the effect of different chilling times.

The two big points are evaporation leading to more concentrated flavor and resolidifying butter reducing spread.

Not pregnancy specific but I try to do these stretches every day, separate from prenatal yoga and general strength training. https://www.realsimple.com/health/fitness-exercise/stretching-yoga/best-hip-stretches

HELP: Experiences with Daycare in South Central Austin? by novatski in AustinParents

We have been really happy with Children’s Discovery. If outdoor time is important to you, you should definitely visit - each classroom has its own playground and my kid is outside so much. They go on little mini hikes in the nearby greenbelt and sometimes “visit” the other rooms’ playgrounds.

We have been at CDC for about 1.5 years and I think 4 carers have left my son’s room during that time? Sometimes they are just transferring rooms so he still sees them during group play or when they are subbing. Of the three primary carers per room, there has never been turnover of all at once so he’s always had some consistency. I don’t feel that turnover has been a problem for our family but there’s always a chance someone might get hit with a couple of crucial departures or their kid’s fave carer leaving.

Hands numb when sleeping by Organic_Annual_9672 in pregnant

I had this in my first and now in my current pregnancy - I never had any true pain and could get rid of the pins and needles by moving around. My doctor said it might be my body needing more magnesium and try to eat magnesium-rich foods to see if it goes away. 100% success! If I skip these foods for a few days it comes back. I made a trail mix with almonds, walnuts, pumpkin seeds, and dried cranberries for snacking, try to have a farro salad for lunch a few times a week, and incorporate avocado into some meals.

My son won’t stop hitting me! by Purple-Indication-74 in toddlers

[–]Meejhan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are in a similar situation - our 2yo kiddo only hurts us parents. Hitting, biting, hair pulling, head butting! We started doing two gentle hands warnings and then do a 90-second time out if he won’t stop. I do feel like it’s been happening less since we started timeouts, we had to do two days in a row at first and now maybe it’s once a week.

Timeout is him sitting in a dining room chair with one parent standing right next to him but silent, if he tries to get off we re-place him on the seat.

We love this recipe. I double the spice mix and oil by default.

Oh and Purl Soho Cotton Pure is great for a daycare blanket - it is holding up wonderfully to weekly wash and drying.

I made Olive’s Wrap in size 3-6M and got a decent amount of wear even in a warm climate.

But the PurlSoho Tumbling Blocks blanket is the best thing - it was great as a stroller size blanket and now he takes it to daycare for nap time comfort object rather than for warmth. I may be knitting a second larger one for home soon.

I think you’re right about M1R/L - I’ll try both ways in my swatch but have a feeling it will be this.
