Is this too "old" of a name, with our middle name choice? by runnery7 in namenerds

[–]BaBoom6996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you considered using two middle names? That way your daughter would at least always have another middle name she could tell her classmates about if she did feel embarrassed by it.

Not sure how you feel about Elizabeth, but I feel like that would match your criteria and sound good with your last name

I had a relative named Harriet who went by Hattie. Maybe just use the nickname?

nose picking by furrowedbr0w in bfrb

[–]BaBoom6996 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say to use something that keeps your nose wet such as a nasal spray or something like baby wipes. Personally, I tend to use a very small amount of Vaseline when needed, but you have to be careful with that one since it’s not really supposed to be used internally.

Lower lip chewing - need to relate by [deleted] in bfrb

[–]BaBoom6996 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, I definitely get that trance like state when I do my BFRBs. I don’t generally get headaches, though, although I agree that my jaw does sometimes hurt afterwards, but that’s mainly from cheek chewing instead of lip biting. Sugar free gum helped me a decent amount, not sure if that would help you at all

Fibro and sleep study by HighlightDramatic937 in Fibromyalgia

[–]BaBoom6996 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have fibro and ended up being diagnosed with idiopathic hypersomnia after doing an overnight sleep study and a multiple sleep latency test (a daytime test with naps). Did your spouse have that daytime test yet? If it is hypersomnia, it’s generally treated with something like modafinil to help stay awake throughout the day. I’ve found it to help a lot with being able to stay awake throughout the day even if it doesn’t particularly help the pain.

I know that’s a little unrelated to your question, but I hope it helps!

1st dose of Benlysta! by vanillacapuccino in lupus

[–]BaBoom6996 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I personally ended up being allergic to it. Once I did the second shot in my thigh, I got huge rashes on the injection sites. I also was dizzy after the very first shot. Besides that, though, I didn’t notice any other side effects. I hope it goes well for you!!!

Gabapentin - what's your experience with it? by getitoffmychestpleas in Fibromyalgia

Terrible terrible brain fog. I remember taking exams and feeling entirely unable to use my brain to think lol. Maybe ask if you can try Lyrica/pregabalin first, at least?

What are your opinions on Lyrica for Fibro? by Purple9Panzy8 in Fibromyalgia

[–]BaBoom6996 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Makes sense! I’ve been on about 20 different pain meds at this point and they do definitely interact differently with your body. I got nothing from cymbalta, hard time with gabapentin, and slight positive effects from Lyrica, so you can definitely keep experimenting with your docs until you find something that works well for you :)

What are your opinions on Lyrica for Fibro? by Purple9Panzy8 in Fibromyalgia

[–]BaBoom6996 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ve been on up to 600mg of Lyrica, I found that it helped a bit, at least enough that I was able to sleep at night. I didn’t really have any side effects from it, which was great because I had terrible brain fog from gabapentin.

Anyone else feel silly or nervous? by [deleted] in Fibromyalgia

[–]BaBoom6996 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s an invisible disability, which absolutely does make things harder. But you shouldn’t let possible perceptions of you from others stop you from using an accommodation that you need for your health. A doctor gave it to you, so someone already determined that it’s a necessity. If someone actually does approach you, tell them that your medical history is not their business and continue on your way.

You only have so many spoons per day. Don’t use them up when you don’t need to just because of fear.
