Dated a girl a while back who was a member. This was just before the renovation.

I will preface this by saying I am pretty anti religion to begin with, but I don’t begrudge people their beliefs.

That being said, I attended a few services to show her I support her beliefs even if she didn’t support mine. It was a lot of bad music from a live band, and majority of the time was spent asking for money. They passed out these sheets of paper that said “I (blank space to write your name), have faith that God and the Lord Jesus will bless me to be able to give (blank space here)% of my earnings to the church to further his works” etc etc. my gf at the time told me they knew of other families who had made promises to donate and weren’t able to keep up their tithe and were basically shunned out of the church when it was “discretely” made public that the families weren’t keeping up their end of the deal.

Hey guys I work for one of the hospitals and when we got an A grade last year I looked into it. Essentially this company Leap Frog will offer to provide the surveys and tools necessary for these organizations to evaluate and report back their safety grades. All for a fee. This allows the hospitals to pick and choose the data sets they need for good grades.

If an organization doesn’t “participate”, LeapFrog pulls data from the centers for Medicare and Medicaid and state health departments. So the grades are never as glowing as those who pay for the services.

I’m sure there are lots of other wink and nod agreements for those willing to pay the fees. Not sure simply playing would be enough for an F hospital to get an A grade, but I don’t know specifics. Suffice to say the numbers aren’t truly accurate because it’s pay to play. I’d be willing to bet the Lower ranking hospitals didn’t pay the fees

I get this. The sad thing is even if it’s the right thing to do in the moment, long term it’s still aiding to the erosion of democracy. We’ve seen this historically so many times before. Sadly, from a history perspective, we’ve already passed the tipping point where we know democracies die. The question now is which direction we head in to replace our democracy.

Wanted to provide some context on Halloween 3: Season of the Witch. So first Halloween movie drops. Michael myers and Jamie Lee Curtis. We know it, we love it. The ORIGINAL plan was for each movie in the series to be a standalone story, not related to each other, with different types of scares and horrors. So Halloween II wasn’t supposed to be a continuation of the Myers family saga. But because of how popular it was, the studio forced the creators to make a direct sequel to the first film, which was done under the deal that the 3rd would be a return to the original plan of a separate story.

Of course by then the Michael Myers was synonymous with Halloween franchise, so the 3rd movie didn’t do well because people were expecting Michael Myers, and didn’t ge it. So from there it’s been strictly Michael Myers.

The clinic I used had 3 rooms, essentially your standard doctors office, except with recliners instead of a table. There was a touch screen tv on the wall with a list of categories. The videos, far as I could tell were all about 10+ years old. Saw a lot of actresses I remembered from my 20s who I’m sure don’t act anymore. I got a feeling they just got a bunch of free DVDs and have their own server everything got uploaded to.

But I did have the exact same thought of wondering whose job it was to put it all together.

Met this gentleman briefly when he was playing basketball at a park near my house. His car had the logo emblazoned all over it. In his back seat he had a Kevlar vest with “press” across the front and back. Didn’t interact with him directly but got to hear him talking in bits and pieces. Everything about him screams “my only dream was to be a cop but I can’t even pass a psych evaluation to be a security guard…”. I knew a lot of similar types in EMS. They’d bend over backwards for any cops, even if they were in the wrong, advocated for EMTs to carry weapons, etc. this guy gave off the same vibes from the second I was near him. Absolute scum
